This is the truth.
Developing and manufacturing the console costs a certain amount of money....and that amount has already been accounted for.
Usually it takes awhile to refine the processes and turn a profit....the early consoles might be sold at a slight loss or tiny profit but they aren't racking it in.
They probably have higher margins on everything BUT the consoles.
They could make a bigger profit per console but it would likely require selling it for $600, $700 etc. They'll limit production now and optimize how to produce them as cheap as possible and then start selling more and even lowering the price.
It wouldn't have been a mistake as it's effectively brand new and under warranty for a year.
You should have bought it. It was still new, open box means the packaging was too fukked up to sell as new. Happens all the time in warehouses.
It’s cool. Hopefully by then, the "bugs" would've been corrected.
