The NBA was on the verge of folding until Magic vs Bird. America just doesn't like hoops unless there are stars & drama.

All the talk of Clark as a star and she plays the exact style that cats hate watching with the men :mjlol:

A lot of these arguments are based on irrational factors that obviously can't be reasoned with.

HOW DOES SIMPLE shyt
GO OVER SOME OF YOU nikkaS HEADS?

WE WANNA SEE STEPH CURRY
PLAY LIKE STEPH CURRY
WE DONT WANNA SEE THE WHOLE
fukkING LEAGUE PLAY LIKE STEPH CURRY.

Like I said in another thread nostalgia is something else. They used to trash this era too in real time. Complaints were loud.... too much iso ball, league was "too black", not enough shooting, not enough scoring, etc.... Ratings were historically bad just like now.

Yep. And then the Lakers built a contender around Kobe, Boston formed a superteam and LeBron entered his prime, and once again the league was hot and all the doom and gloom was a thing of past

Ppl are well within their rights to be frustrated, but the NBA is not dying anytime soon, the league will be fine

Strongly disagree…that muhfukka’s game is beautiful …he’s a direct descendant of the great highly skilled shooting gawds…as a personality he’s boring, but his GAME?!? shiiiiiit

SGA game is beautiful yes but a controversial opinion is the nikka isn’t American. (yes I know he’s Canadia which is our neighbor)

People underrate it but that team USA nod is what catches people attention. I hate that Luka, Giannis, Jokic all get secondary coverage but it’s their personalities(language barrier) and not the game

Stop using this stupid ass excuse.

Same cats complaining about the state of today's NBA are the same ones who shytted on Steph when he rose to stardom, saying his style of play was no more than a gimmick that wouldn't have any success.

Y'all just hate the NBA doesn't have an American identity anymore.

Sports is a copycat industry…if something works and can be duplicated, it will be.

Steph play style is a lot easier to replicate than Bron.

Also shooting 3s gives teams the easier path to victory.

I watched Nuggets/Cavs last week, and Denver did well battling the Cavs throughout the game but lost the 3pt battle and that was that. Denver had more rebounds, 30 more points in the paint and one overall less basket made than the Cavs (46 to the Cavs’ 47). Cleveland hit 22 3s and Denver hit 6…matter of fact Cavs hit almost as many 3s as Denver took. Cavs really started pulling away when Joker sat and they hit a bunch of 3s to start the 4th to bury them.

So unless you got a Joker level talent on your team to get you efficient 2s…you gotta battle 3s with 3s

I think the xenophobia is a factor but him playing in OKC and being an unexpected superstar also weighs big too

If he never got traded from the Clippers and became this player he would’ve been playing on national TV every week

Meanwhile after the cup ends, OKC won’t be playing again on ESPN or TNT until the end of January

Yeah but KD also was already a household name before he even got to the league bc of his high school & college career, I think he had already his own Nike shoe his rookie year. So his hype was levels above SGA from the gate

Plus he was just flat out better too

His game might be smooth and beautiful but it's not exciting. Nothing in this clip made me wanna hit the rewind button or make sure I tune in to the next OKC game.
What is this "excitement" that he's missing. Is it the fact he isn't as athletic?
