Nope, the government is amassing trillions for SOME (:duck:) reason. When they close their positions, a minority of the public will be very wealthy. Only 5 million people hold AMC shares. Why is it so unfathomable that those people will all become millionaires?? It’s an infinitesimally small segment of the public.

Some of you need to stop thinking these AMC and GME investors aren’t a tiny fraction of investors. The vast majority of the public doesn’t know what is happening and the vast majority of the public won’t know that we are millionaires after these two stocks squeeze.

it’s no different than what happened with bitcoin. MOST people have no idea that a few million people became millionaires off this obscure and nebulous concept of crypto currency.

And, most people won’t know that those holding AMC and GME became millionaires after the two of them sold for six figures a share.

:pachaha:

Damn good point.

The only people really in on it are those invested in it...or GME.

It's going to be a quiet azz transfer of wealth since like 1.5% of the country is in on it. Plus, not everyone will sell at peak. We finna be The One Percent that Bernie Sanders kept talking about.

Nah it’s in the rules. You are allowed to cover FTDs by borrowing more shares.

Naked Shorting is illegal and always have been they never did shyt about it, I mean this was a big deal back in 2008 with lehman brothers

plus a lot of people using AMC and Gamestop have margin accounts, so their shares can actually be loaned out to the hedgefunds and I think that's how they've been staying a float this whole time

this new NSCC filing raise the minimum to 250k per play, and it has to be cash deposit
so this will put incredible pressure on the smaller hedgefunds and they will have to close their positions which will cause a snowball effect, and put pressure on the bigger ones forcing them to close out

Yes and no.

Purposely selling naked shorts is illegal. But it’s perfectly legal to sell/loan a share before actually physical securing it.

You are supposed to secure the share within a certain amount of time but that’s a huge gray area that allows them to keep loaning/borrowing/selling shares over and over again without ever confirming or securing the original share.

Agreed. Am looking forward to how all these new rules play out.
