Looks like I should be ok... put the resume out, about 50 or so apps the past week, have 5 screenings/interviews over the next coming week. At the very least my resume looks good. Now just need to practice talking, lol

Do dem practice interviews and lots of notes cards especially if it's virtual. Even use ChatGPT/Bard to mine some your own answers/history and be able to put it together in a a captivating way. I was bombing BI Developer interviews last yr til I did a practice call with the dude who I paid to do my resume lol. Had to go through two interviews, second one with an entire panel. Had a breh sweating on Teams :whew:

Developers at google see the writing on the wall. They ready to clap back:

Yup. That's what's crazy. Humans will always find a way to adapt and strike back. That's what competition is.

Not to mention other side effects. That kind of reminded me of what I read recently:

Smart people definitely aren't going to sit around and accept getting screwed.

They're going to pull together and get innovative.

It's crazy out there and definitely an employer's market. I would get rejected outright for having a year less experience than the job description said. It got to the point that I wouldn't bother applying if the words "React" or "Kubernetes" appeared anywhere on the description. Many companies seem to want "full stack" + devops.

I wasn't even applying to big tech companies to avoid medium/hard Leetcodes, but some of these non tech companies are asking Leetcode medium questions now AND want you to have everything listed in their job description.

Google CEO tells employees to expect more job cuts this year/

In an internal memo, Sundar Pichai said recent layoffs are about “removing layers to simplify execution and drive velocity in some areas.”

By Alex Heath, a deputy editor and author of the Command Line newsletter. He’s covered the tech industry for over a decade at The Information and other outlets.

Google has laid off over a thousand employees across various departments since January 10th. CEO Sundar Pichai’s message is to brace for more cuts.

“We have ambitious goals and will be investing in our big priorities this year,” Pichai told all Google employees on Wednesday in an internal memo that was shared with me. “The reality is that to create the capacity for this investment, we have to make tough choices.”

So far, those “tough choices” have included layoffs and reorganizations in Google’s hardware, ad sales, search, shopping, maps, policy, core engineering, and YouTube teams.

“These role eliminations are not at the scale of last year’s reductions, and will not touch every team,” Pichai wrote in his memo — a reference to when Google cut 12,000 jobs this time last year. “But I know it’s very difficult to see colleagues and teams impacted.”

Pichai said the layoffs this year were about “removing layers to simplify execution and drive velocity in some areas.” He confirmed what many inside Google have been fearing: that more “role eliminations” are to come.

“Many of these changes are already announced, though to be upfront, some teams will continue to make specific resource allocation decisions throughout the year where needed, and some roles may be impacted,” he wrote.

A spokesperson for Google didn’t have additional comment.

Tell me why I had an interview today, decided last minute to check the interviewers linkedin profile, and he worked with everybody I was just working with at the last job, lol
Unless you was lazy that could be a great thing. My reputation got me my current job because two of my former coworkers worked at this company. I wasn't even the best fit for the job as they had two internal candidates they really wanted to put in this position.
