Microsoft's issue is that they've failed at directing their in house studio's to produce quality games consistently.

This is just not true.

Every single one of microsoft’s studios has released very successful games over the years. They just didn’t have as many studios as sony.

I don't think anybody should want this. Even if you don't like Microsoft you still need somebody to check Sony because none of these corporations are your friends. They've already raised the price of PS+ by 30% and without Xbox there are other stuff they could raise price on and wouldn't have any other option except build a PC

The reality is the only company out there interested in competing with Sony in the console space is Microsoft and if they pull out no other company is looking to take their place.

Other companies aren’t dumb. They know it’s borderline impossible to enter this space and topple the market leaders as it exist today. We’ve seen Apple, Google, and Amazon and the like flirt with making gaming products but ultimately back off.

Because with three console makers, the market share is gobbled all the way up. But if Microsoft exits, now there are only two...

If Microsoft fail and have to leave the industry after 25 years thats because THEY THEMSELVES failed to be competitive in the market not Sony or Nintendos fault. Some of yall think Microsoft needs to exist just because they are here and not because they are actually doing anything to challenge Sony or Nintendo.

Its up to them to bring something interesting to the table and its not some universal right that they should be able to buy out whatever company they want so they can do that.

It’s like saying Buick deserves to exist because Japanese cars are bringing more value and business in and America needs to have their own no matter what, so its up to us to bail them out, not them to create better cars

they’ve had 20+ years to create good long lasting gaming franchises and they haven’t been able to do it outside of forza, gears, and halo, which the latter two are on their dying breath.

More competition is good, but this idea microsoft has that they should just be able to buy their way to the top is not good.

Sony literally bought its way to the top stifled competition killed 2-3 competitors along the way almost killed xbox and nintendo. Xbox isn't a threat, no where near the type of threat sony was coming into gaming. More competition is great which is why it's fine xbox is buying a publisher
