At least Barack went to Chicago after Harvard and put in work in the community also his pastor was Jeeremiah Wright man he know how the game works
Barack never had any significant ties to the African American community before Michelle.
Kamala does.
For some black people, those ties makes her more "culturally authentic" than Barack despite his marriage to Michelle.
I think the cultural one upmanship folks are trying to play is silly. Kamala went to an HBCU, Barack didn't. Barack married a black wife, Kamala married a white husband. Kamala pledged a black sorority, Barack didn't. Barack went to Chicago, Kamala went to Oakland. Kamala joined a prestigious black civic and social organization. Barack didn't.
Both have enough black cultural signifiers that it's going to appease one group and maybe not the other.
However folks in this thread may feel, her black cultural signifiers appeases the segment of the black community with the most clout.
It is what it is....
Barack didn't have any of these until Valerie Jarrett got involved.
