I attend an HBCU but we're not in the hole. We're a public state school not a private school like Morehouse and Howard so its a different story for funding
I went to a predominantly white state school and it was cheaper than this college.
On top of that who wants to look at black women all day?
What does that mean? Do you know what credit is my nikka? Them nikkas have a +$400 million endowment. You don't think they could pay it?
I owe a credit card bill right now. You don't deplete your cash flow for credit dumb ass.
Edit: (Outside of public funding) Every school relies on their pres securing and maintaining donations You clearly have no idea how the college education system works. I've had discussions with university trustees/presidents/etc. about all of this shyt and you are wildly mis-informed bro.
Howard's main problem is money mismanagement as with any major HBCU. Fix that and they are good. Gov may crack down, but they will always have students willing to flow tuition money in. Maybe that's why I'm not concerned in the least bit. Because I actually know what's going on instead of all of this speculation, which means I ain't fit for a discussion of nikkas who don't know what they are talking about. Peace.
The Real HU is still though.Howard is like the hbcu of all hbcus...this tells me that a lot of other hbcus are going broke as well...us alumni gotta start giving back more and hope that the funds are appropriated accordingly ( )
what's the issue?really?
what's the issue?
Diddy should buy the school. Ciroc Graduate School of Business

Howard University is Allegedly Being Sued for $100 Million
Published: July 16th 2013, 1:57pm
Howard Town Center Developer, LLC sued Howard University for $100 million yesterday for an alleged wrongful termination of an agreement made between the two parties to build a large mixed-use development on Georgia Avenue, according to the Washington City Paper.
The lawsuit filed by Howard Town Center Developer, LLC and orchestrated by Cohen Companies is claiming that Howard did not give their development partner proper notification prior to canceling their aforementioned agreement outlined in the lease. Howard Town Center Developer, LLC now wants $100 million from the University and an injunction to ensure that the school does not make a deal with another company now that they no longer have ties to Cohen Companies.
Steve Callcott from the D.C. Historic Preservation Office confirms that Howard terminated its development agreement with Cohen Companies back on June 26, 2013. Howard spokeswoman Kerry-Ann Hamilton has also been on record saying that Howard canceled the deal.
"The University took this action because developer failed to meet certain benchmarks under the ground lease and development agreements," she said.
Cohen Companies was supposed to work alongside Howard to build the Howard Town Center project, a development that would involve the 2100 block of Georgia Avenue NW and consist of a "residential building with 445 apartments atop a Fresh Grocer grocery store and other retail space," reports the Washington City Paper.
The agreement to develop this project was made between Howard, Cohen Companies, and CastelRock Partners in 2010 after the D.C. government gave the University the Georgia Avenue land. And although that was three years ago, Howard Town Center Developer, LLC is claiming that the they've already invested well over $2 million into the development. That money, according to the lawsuit, was used to "obtain permits, prepare for demolition, coordinate with utilities, and other activities."
"HU, most likely motivated by a desire to obtain a better deal with another developer, has ignored the clear terms of the various agreements governing the Project to eliminate LLC as the developer," the lawsuit reads. "HU's precipitous termination of LLC not only is detrimental to LLC as the project developer, but harms the viability of the Project and, in turn, the public which could anticipate reaping benefits from the retail, residential and employment opportunities this multi-million dollar mixed-use project envisioned."
Howard University has run into many financial problems as of late. First there was the letter written by the Board of Trustees Vice Chairwoman stating that Howard could potentially not be around in three years. Then there were the fiscal mismanagement accusations, and a threat of a decreased credit rating. And most recently, Howard announced plans to furlough its hospital staff. It appears as if the University is struggling to stay afloat, which may be one reason why the school has backed out of plans to work with Howard Town Center, LLC and more specifically Cohen Companies.
We reached out to Howard spokeswoman Kerry-Ann Hamilton who said the following in an email:
"We cannot comment on the current litigation at this time. The University's goal is to continue working towards the successful implementation and completion of the Howard Town Center."
This story is still developing. We will update this article when more information becomes available.
which is why they're in arrears
Having 400Ms in revenue doesn't mean you have that in net worth
Keep reaching!
I know precisely what endowments are. I went to a school that had a few billion.Yep, like I thought. You don't even know what endowments are
Also, for a school that's going through major construction for dorms, class buildings, stores, etc. like Howard, it'd be wayyyy better to tie your funds to things that will make you more money (construction and new facilities) than spend all of your money to pay of credited items.
Your troll game failed heavy this thread. Stick to the gays and religion.
All HBCUs are always in a "budget crisis". Lol. nikkas been strapped for cash for the past +150 years. Ain't gonna change now.I know precisely what endowments are. I went to a school that had a few billion.
the difference is, we weren't in a PERSISTENT budget crisis like HU is.
But you know what. keep trying to defend HU.
I guess this article was COMPLETELY fabricated, huh?
I remember reading about that. That shyt happened in the summer though. I think that they are well past it at this point.as funny as this is ..................................................................
