I'm loy key surpised you typed that considering that Cell Phone regulation that they passed a while back.

So you happened to fall in love with your wife?

She's not down to move to Nai?

I really liked TZ although obviously corrupt shyt works better than Nai in some ways one with a more efficent bus system.

I like free markets but TZ has a National bus system in Dar with Bus lanes and Nairobi anyone can buy a bus and a route so no bus only lanes for Matatus

But I want a certain level of infrastucture If you go on the Westlands area you get functioning lights and even sidewalks. Hell there were traffic lights sidewalks on the main road of Imara Daima too.

I actually don't know why Oshay picked Uganda over Kenya other than the fatter asses

You mean this? Government plans law to protect users of mobile phones : Unwanted Witness

And yeah I did fell in love got engaged got married and been here since. Have a visa for 2 years but we will prob go to canada so she can get PR and citizenship then go back to goatganda.

We've been to Nairobi she likes it but its less safe and I find more expensive.

Uganda has better weather and the dollar stretches way farther also much safer. But yeah no traffic lights, no jobs and indians and Eritreans seem to own everything of merit.

You gotta move to Canada for while for her to get Canadian citizenship?

I know a dude in Namibia going through the same thing although his wife is in IT so the idea is to get her some US expeirence so she could get a better job in Namibia.

I felt pretty safe in Nai but no President for Life so the cops ain't as brutal

I can't even imagine seeing cops in Tanzania even though I know I did.

I will say I think the more Totalitarian governments had better security you barely heard of crime in TZ no official president for life but the opposition candidtate manages to get shot and imprisioned in TZ.

Example 1 cdn dollar is 2,800 ugandan shillings

I've literally had beef and matooke breakfast delivered to my place for 5,000 ugandan shillings

Taking the bus is 1,000 shillings, i can t ake a boda (motocycle taxi) and its like 2,000 shillings

I go to the movies with my wife and even with popcorn and drinks movie tickets it's like 15,000 shillings

Our apartment is 550,000 ugandan shillings a month which is just under 200 a month for middle class apartment. I can be in a an uber for 40 minutes and its 10,000 shillings

What i literally make in a day at my job can cover all of our expenses for the month :blessed:

Yeah i'd have to sponsor her to get her pr then you have to be in canada for a certain amount of time to be eligible for citizenship.

I felt safe in Nairobi but I stayed at a fancy hotel near the airport and took ubers everywhere. I've never felt unsafe in Kampala at all. I've had a couple of cops try to get a bribe or something but once they hear my accent they get all shook because they think I work for the embassy as I live near the US embassy .

Never been pressed for a bribe. But I was on a bus to TZ and the bus driver was selling candy in a box.
A TZ cop came on checking passports and home stuck his hand deep (no diddy) in the. Candy box and grabbed a mountain of candy

Bus driver just sighed the cop glanced at him like he dared him to say something

I can buy a brand new fancy condo for 40k usd, or buy a house on the outskirts of the city for like 80k usd. We pay a lady like 10k every week to do our laundry she hand washes, puts it to dry and brings it back all folded and ironed.

a one bedroom is like 2,300 a month in Toronto, thats like 12 months down here

Lol yes carrefour is all over but I find its mainly mzungu prices, and everytime I go I always see mzungus

I prefer capital shoppers or going to the markets for fruits and veggies.

Well we all love Africa but I generally don't buy non peelable food markets

Probably won't kill you but I have a hard time buying things like. Chickens and beef in open air markets

I remember one time my girl's family CME to visit with a live chicken

The GF clapped it in the laundry room but I refused to eat it.

I completely understand it was the same as the fresh chicken breasts in the refrigerator at Carrefour but I'm from New York City and there's only so far I can go

shyt I cant live without my daily cappuccino and slice of apple pie

Lol all I know is Kenyans have been clowning Ruto's whole US trip. The cost of such a trip while you make the average Kenyans lives more expensive.

Student exchange has been a thing and this is no different. HBCUs should all have programs where they receive/send students to African colleges.

That said all this exaggerated marketing about "bridging diaspora" is a marketing scheme to extract money from Americans. A lot of Ghanaian and Tanzanian expats are learning this the hard way.

As an aside, the same people angry that African countries do business with the West turn a blind eye to Chinese debt traps, Russian paramilitary, etc wreaking havoc in the motherland.
