At the end of the day, it's really pretty simple. As a prospect, he's not elite. He doesn't have many if any elite traits. Then you factor in that to many people, he comes across as cocky/arrogant/etc., it becomes an issue for teams. You have a QB such as Caleb Williams that was "cocky" or whatever term someone would want to use. However, he had ELITE traits. When you don't have elite traits, you sure as hell better come across to teams as having a great attitude and minimal baggage, and Sanders does not check those boxes..

I'm not saying McCarthy will be great, but he was a QB of a National Championship team and faced better competition.

And, Richardson and Jones both had/have some traits that are at the upper echelon for a QB. Jones has the mobility and speed. Richardson has the size, speed, and rocket arm.

Yes, part of Sanders not being drafted in the first round is non-football related (a lot of it his own doing), but most is football related. There is almost no GM or owner that is going to pass up on an elite talent just because they think someone has an arrogance or whatever about them. They just don't view Sanders as that great of a prospect.

The biggest thing is that people were gassing Sanders up for more than a year now when scouts and GM's would not have gassed him up. People were throwing around first overall pick, top five, and top ten pick labels on him leading to many to expect him to be drafted there. However, that was never reality for GM's..

I'll happily admit it if I'm wrong, but I don't see Shough doing anything meaningful at the next level, and this is based on him not doing anything meaningful at the college level. 59 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions for his career, and he's already had injuries.

Shedeur had 134 TD and 27 Ints for comparison with double the yardage and a better completion percentage.

I have no horse in this race but I PROMISE you Shedeur is better than Shough who's only getting attention b/c 6'5 and white and everyone is looking for the next Josh Allen.

JJ made some big time throws in big time games, he's a solid athlete too. I think he'll be a solid pro. And I say this as a Michigan State fan who rooted for JJ to fail.

I always projected him to be a 3rd rounder at the highest cause he won 0 bowl games and wasn't even considered for Heisman finalist.

All he has to name is his school records, and NCAA career completion percentages. That's all he has.

Anyone who watched Richardson in college knew he has a cannon arm and that's about it. He constantly overthrew receivers. I knew he wasn't cut out to be an NFL QB, but GMs always think they can mold an average player into an elite player and it costs them their jobs a few years later.
