Tom Brady warned us.
Easy explanation.
Brady and that generation of QBs born in the 70s/80s, came up with rules that were more..."even" for offense and defense. After that AFC Championship game where the Pats mugged the Colts plus Brady getting hurt in '08.....the rules swung MUCH harder to offense.
Peyton, Brees, Brady, Rodgers etc., benefitted because they were used to playing Madden on All-Pro...but then the sliders got pushed down to Rookie. Now it's easy as fukk for them. The young bois only know this era of football....and defensive players have caught up.
We saw Micah Parsons at 6'3" 250 lbs, outrunning a bunch of RB/WRs in that workout clip. Dude is probably a legit 4.39 to 4.45 guy. Defenses caught up and the QBs don't have the fundamentals to fall back on.
Plus college is all about winning. These guys make a couple of reads and then run. The NFL game is more complex but college offenses aren't keeping up. One or 2-read QBs...then you got guys like Ewers that can't consistently throw accurately past 10 yards.
