NFL is in a transition right now. Teams are playing more 2 high safety taking away the deep ball. The running game has been ressurected on top of better defenses taking place. All these factors will effect QBs and the passing game.

If anything, todays talent is the most ive seen at the QB spot ever. They are just adjusting. Give it time

The trickle down effect of bad line play has a bigger impact more than anything.

When I saw the Jets Brian Winters, PFF worst ranked guard, being trotted out every week to “block” for Geno week after week 10 years ago watching the all-22 cam, I realized that rhe league has lost a step with line play.

The athleticism at D-line now combined with these spread offense bred lineman climbing the ranks have hurt NFL offense more than anything. Are there anymore NASTY Eric Williams or Conrad Dobler maulers? We dont even see hot heads anymore that scare teams besides Trent Williams.

Its bad now. Plain bad.

TYRONE GA!
It’s a league issue .

They went too far with the analytics/PFF shyt.

They devalued the hell out of everything except for QBs,WRs and OT’s.

The thought was you can just grab anyone to play RB,G and TE’s are cool if they’re basically an extra WR.

Over the past couple of years you had the analytics community laugh at the Lions for picking Jahmyr Gibbs, call Derrick Henry a bad fit because he doesn’t catch the ball, and act like Joe Mixon and Josh Jacobs are easily replaceable …all of those RBs had had big impacts on their teams …because running the ball matters .lets not even discuss how the Giants treated Saquon and what he doing in Philly rn

They thought you can just pass the ball the around like it’s 7 on 7 and just place any RB in the backfield . Put the entire game on the QB shoulders …. Well no shyt the QBs look ass because they’re not built for that.

Yup.

Brady said that the lines were getting blurred between the Pro game and the College game. He was right. Too many of these guys are one read.

And 20 years ago, if a guy weighed 330 with some mobility, he was an offensive lineman. Unless the guy is 6'6+, not anymore. He's becoming a D-lineman, and they are just way more advanced today than O-Lineman

Tom Brady warned us.
:manny:
Easy explanation.

Brady and that generation of QBs born in the 70s/80s, came up with rules that were more..."even" for offense and defense. After that AFC Championship game where the Pats mugged the Colts plus Brady getting hurt in '08.....the rules swung MUCH harder to offense.

Peyton, Brees, Brady, Rodgers etc., benefitted because they were used to playing Madden on All-Pro...but then the sliders got pushed down to Rookie. Now it's easy as fukk for them. The young bois only know this era of football....and defensive players have caught up.

We saw Micah Parsons at 6'3" 250 lbs, outrunning a bunch of RB/WRs in that workout clip. Dude is probably a legit 4.39 to 4.45 guy. Defenses caught up and the QBs don't have the fundamentals to fall back on.

Plus college is all about winning. These guys make a couple of reads and then run. The NFL game is more complex but college offenses aren't keeping up. One or 2-read QBs...then you got guys like Ewers that can't consistently throw accurately past 10 yards.

If there’s a crisis it’s in team building and drafting. CJ is still good but he’s playing behind a trash o-line. Daniels has played behind a questionable o-line all season and it’s finally catching up to the team. Caleb makes terrible decisions but his o-line isn’t great either.

A lot of teams took receivers instead of potentially elite tackles and guards. At some point you gotta blame GMs for being dumb.
Can’t recall who said or where I read it but WAS offense has gone MIA after halftime the past 8/9 games. They do their damage in the 1H. It’s my big issue with Kingsbury’s play calling. It’s pretty elementary and once defense adjusts to it, he doesn’t have many counters.

Let's go back 20 years and see who some of the starting QB's were:

Payton
McNabb
Brady
Brees
Ben
Culpepper
Trent Green
Bulger
Pennington
Plummer
Hasslebeck
Delhomme
Griese
Palmer
Vick
Testaverde
Leftwich
Brooks
Boller
Garcia
Rattay
Volek
McCown
Collins
Harrington

Stop acting like everyone back in the days was HoF quality. There's always 5 high level HoF bound QB's, another 5 who are Pro Bowl level, another 5 who are decent, 5 low level starters, and the rest aren't good.

There's an influx of rookies and young guys who you can't evaluate this early. Calm down and wait.

It’s time to admit that the NFL has a QB crisis that isn’t getting any better.

These young NFL QBs ain’t it. CJ has regressed, Jayden and Caleb are struggling right now. If the best rookie QB is Bo Nix, there is a big issue with how these college QBs are being prepared for the pros.

These games today have almost been unwatchable compared to yesterday’s college football slate.

:what: them 1 o’clock games were damn near all unbelievable. What the hell are you talking about?

Everyone keeps bringing up Josh Allen in this thread but seems to forget that he was trash his first two years in the league. QBs need development.
Coli is full of cacs trying to be black. They quick to shyt on Stroud and Love not even 2 years in but praise Allen and Herbert(who has never dont shyt).

We dont even have games anymore where we go into it looking forward to watching an o-lineman play.

We WANTED to see Larry Allen. We WANTED to see what Erik planned to do (dirty) vs Reggie.

Do we have that anticipation for o-lineman anymore ?
