Yes there is a racial double standard. If Shedeur was white he would’ve gotten drafted higher. They would’ve made a ton of excuses like “he turned around a 1 win program” and “QB is the most important position, it’s worth the risk.” The discourse speaks to this wider societal issue of racial double standards. I guess using your logic since the NFL started allowing Black players in 1946 there were no more racial double standards in the 1950s. Y’all are either White cosplaying as Black on here or so scared of challenging systematic White Supremacy it’s embarrassing.

:comeon: 1950s my guy, really. We evoking the civil rights sit ins over Shaduer fukking Saunders are you shytting me

This happens ALL the time. As I told you it would 4 months ago:

Mocked top 10 all-season: Malik Willis, Will Levis

Mocked top 10 in college Pre-season: Matt Corral, Spencer rattler, Sam Howell

Those last 3 were mocked to go top 10 in the same draft

Yea, this happens ALL the time

+ Ken Dorsey
+ Danny Wuerful
+ Danny Kannell

All white, all more accomplished than Shaduer sanders. All exposed in the draft process and dropped

We need 2 Shaduer threads. One to talk ball among knowledgeable rational people. And one throw it in the root, let you nggas get your Assata Shaduer political prisoner on :beli:

Maybe I'm missing something but who has Stefanski developed that warrants you talking about him like hes some QB guru?

This here.......also he took Baker Mayfield to the postseason. It's not like he's had great QBs to work with but he's clearly a great offensive mind.

Case Keenum had his best season when Kevin Stefanski (Upenn Grad who won an Ivy League Chip) was the QB coach of the Minnesota Vikings and the Browns were able to win 11 games in 2023 and made the playoffs with FIVE Different quarterbacks (Watson, DTR, P. J. Walker, Flacco & Jeff Driskel.) I know the Browns don't historically have the best reputation for picking QBs but from a pure coaching perspective, I'd want to be developed by Stefanski. I think this is a good spot for both Sheddeur and Gabriel to become successful. It will be a battle and they likely won't have a long leash but this league is dog eat dog and they get a chance to prove it under who I believe to be is a very good headcoach.

The number one QB in the draft was Black. fukk up your job interview while winning 12 games in 2 years playing in the worst P5 conference and blame white supremacy :russ:

Tell you what gets you drafted in the top 3 rounds as a limited QB with a circus show as a family in a league that’s skittish on taking on project Qb’s

“I learned a lot at Colorado, learned what it takes to turn around a bad program, learned about working hard and letting my play speak for itself; my dad taught me to be confident and put my team first, my goal is Super Bowl and being a franchise QB”

Ewers and Will Howard, actual championship winning QBs didn’t get drafted high. No NFL GM is destroying their career to play Jim Crow. :mjlol:

Of course the ATL
:mjpls:

Some of this is opinion but I’m gonna stick to mostly numbers. QBR is dope bc you can’t juke the stats. It’s largely independent of your supporting cast being elite/subpar. Shaduer has a 77 QBR. 16th in the nation. Last year he was at 63. Good for 57th….

I browsed the last 10 years. 1) No #1 pick had a QBR under 85. 2) No more then 2 or 3 first round QBs under 80. 3) Most if not all eventual NFL QBs put together 2 good years QBR-wise. None had a season as low as 63.

For comparison sake, Top QBR this year: Cam Ward- 88. 2023: #1 Jaden Daniels 95.7. #2 Bo Nix 91. 2022 top 5 QBR: Jaden Daniels, Hendon hooker, CJ Stroud, Bo Nix, Caleb. Notable final year QBR recent QBs:

Stroud (jr year) 91
Bryce young-87
Mac jones- 96
Fields- 91
Aidan Occonell- 84
Matt coral- 88
Zach Wilson- 88
Kyle Trask- 88
Burrow- 94
Tua- 94
Hurts- 90
Lawrence-87
Kyler-95
Haskins- 84
Drew Lock-82
Baker mayfield-91
Darnold- 86
Lamar- 84
Watson- 84
Mahomes- 83
Blake Bortles- 79
Drake Maye- 77

Included eventual busts just to hammer home that even busts passed the threshold of college QBR. The takeaway isnt that if you have a high college QBR you’re gonna be a high level NFL QBR. It’s that if you’re a high level NFL QB—-you absolutely had a high college QBR. And if you didn’t—-say Mahomes or Maye—-you are an upside projection with rare arm talent or athleticism. Shaduer has neither. Shaduer is a pocket passer withOUT rare arm talent. So his comp should be with recent pocket passers in this vein; Dwayne Haskins, Mac jones, Teddy bridgewater, etc. All projected as first round talent sure but not #1 picks, and barely top 10 if that

But I would be surprised if scouts don’t level set. It may seem like a debate now, but once they put on the tape Cam Ward is absolutely going first. And don’t be suprised if teams needing QBs opt for vets and Shaduer ‘slides’. In b4 ‘hate’ and ‘eye test’ :beli:

Great take. +rep

We’ve never seen a player drop like Shedeur did on such a short amount of time. And those other guys fell off because of questions about their play, not intangibles.

If he didn't have a promise from a team why did he say there were teams he didn't want to play for?
Deion had an inflated view of Shedeur and didn't really have a realistic idea of how teams graded him, likely because thats his son.

But in his head he clearly thought Shedeur was a franchise QB prospect and would be treated as such. He's said several times Shedeur is a top 4 pick, possibly the first pick. So he was moving like Shedeur had Caleb Williams level of clout going in the draft. Basically thinking he can dictate where his son goes because nearly every team would want a QB like him on the roster.

We now know thats not the case....in fact most teams didn't want him at all, so prime really did nothing to help his son. Infact he hurt him pretty badly.

That doesn’t take away from the racial realties impacting how this situation played out. If Shedeur was white he would’ve been drafted higher. And Cam Ward was the clear cut top prospect so pointing him out isn’t relevant. I guess since Jim Brown was the 6th pick in 1957 there wasn’t any racism in the NFL back then.
