lol at him thinking you can just make a phone for a coaching position in the NBA. Like there isn't 1000 other people more qualified and working to get a position. He is delusional.

well if u want somebody to help your young post players a hof would greatly be appreciated

This is on point, however, why does he have to lessen his expectations when none of his counterparts had to?

so what y'all are saying is you gotta kiss ass? It shouldn't matter if he was a loner, kobe is too will he get treated the same? shyt Bird is not the most social guy in the world either.

You don't have to be sociable to coach.....

Who said that Parish couldn't communicate. He's doing an interview right now isn't he?

Listen, a lot of professional athletes don't hang out with each other and that does not mean that they're anti social.

If you think Kareem and Chief, 2 of the all time GOATS don't have something beneficial to offer the game from a coaching standpoint then we can just agree to disagree....

:scusthov: You two are trying so hard. Stop it. There's a difference between being anti-social and personable and being anti-social and an a$$hole. Judging from his story he was the latter. My co-workers beg and plead with me to come out and chill, dinner, clubbing and I throw them a bone once every 3 months or so:smugdraper: but for the most part I respectfully decline. They still enjoy my company at work and we clown. I just don't fcku with them outside of work.

This dude seems like an entitled prick who probably felt he was above all that shh. Kobe learned the hard way you can't piss on ppl like that. You have to be personable. You don't have to be exchanging gifts at X-mas or no shh, but send out a X-mas card. Mr. Parish just don't know how to play the game. I agree it is a shock if you going from millions to 80K, but when you are an outsider you got to work your way up. This also speaks to a larger point of how short-sided athletes are, notably black. Every interaction is a job interview. Smarten up.

It took McHale 10 years before he coached, and he only coached because the owner wanted him to clean up his own mess. The fact that he wanted to hire Chief on the staff just because he was Chief can let you some of why Mac got let go (and with Mac, if you had a job, you had a job for life).

Hell, a big reason as why McHale was even able to get a front office gig in the first place was because he's a Minnesota legend and he was in the booth with Kevin Harlan. Glen Taylor just saved the team from moving to New Orleans and felt it woulda been cool for PR to give him a job in the organization.

Chief is 59 years old. That's old even for an established coach who put in the work. He hasn't done anything there.

A head coaching gig is kind far fetched but working his away up to assistant is very plausible and he's young enough to do that......

Didn't Mac start broadcasting Minnesota games right after he retired and got promoted to some position right below a GM within a 2 year span?

Sure you do. You have to be a good communicator. Doc Rivers went from the booth to the bench because he knew how to communicate. Being a coach also requires you to do interviews. Unless you're Bellichek you gotta be sociable. And even Belli talks to those in the organization.

Not really kissing ass. Essentially, RP seems like the type of dude that only come around when he wants something. I can see if had some major shyt to bring to the table. For example, MJ was an a$$hole, but cats are like :manny: because of what he brings. His likeness alone brings in loot.

This dude sound like a straight coat tail ass nikka. fukk him.

First of all, Kobe still isn't personable to his teammates and you don't have to be have success

Second, nikkas act like Bird and Mchale didn't fall out the last 3-4 years they were playing together so miss me with the harmonious locker room BS that's needed to be a future NBA coach...

Also, I see a lot of cats dealing in hypotheticals and summing up a person's character based on one interview....

The society we live in today, boy I tell ya.....:smh:

Kobe will not be coaching in the future. You don't have to be harmonious, but you can't be a cancer neither. Dude seriously sounds like the latter.

The Celtics hired him in 2004 for public relations work, but Parish found the $80,000 salary too low. “I want to make it clear, I’m not whining, and the Celtics owe me nothing. But having said that, you would think at least I would have a conversation about a coaching job, since that’s what I want to do.”

I live in the United States
Why not work up from a college or WNBA job?

and :wow: at that too generous line. How many times has that been said?

Cuz he's Robert fukkin Parrish thats why, you wouldn't say that shyt to Larry B
Robert was just as important to the overall "Team"
With that said, come to Washington Robbie. We could use your expertise.
shyt, I'd even see what he can do as H.Coach if he wanted it.
But first I'd want him as coach of the bigs. If he does a good job there, then tell Wittman to Gittman :cape:

au contraire, I'd say the same exact thing if he was having the same trouble getting the position he wanted. You have to go with a different plan to get where you want to go. :yeshrug:
