Funny thing is that many critics claim that they initially hated Coming to America, but looking back, they love it as a classic...

As for Harlem Nights, I remember when it came out and the critics shytTED all over the film (anyone old enough to remember that Jet magazine cover story for the movie)

As for Harlem Nights, I remember when it came out and the critics shytTED all over the film (anyone old enough to remember that Jet magazine cover story for the movie)

I had to be 10 years old when I saw that movie for the first time. I thought it was hysterical then and still do to this day. I wonder if they dug up old reviews for that score?

I ain't even kidding, I downloaded that movie off the strength of this and metacritic's reviews. I couldn't believe that movie was that shytty. I mean straight up trash. I deleted the Last one of my computer after watching this trash. I rarely ever check either of those sites anymore because we obviously have different interests.

That if you're a good ole boy then you'll fall ass backwards into wealth and fame and achieve the american dream but if you go out and explore the counterculture, go off the beaten path and hang with black and brown people, and rebel against the system, the same system Forest embraced, then you'll die from AIDS. It was a way of saying that those of the baby boom generation who made it big did it by following the rules and those who didn't follow those rules and put up with the establishment weren't going to make it at all

I guess you can interpret it that way......

Well it's not necessarily different interests as much as it's just all of the critics who contribute have different opinions well not all but most. The funny thing about this though is anytime a new movie comes out, you'll see nikkas in the thread citing the RT score before it drops and gauging their hype or lack of hype based on it yet we have a whole thread dedicated to disagreeing with critics
