That's "hopeful listening" All Microsoft games will be Xbox exclusive. The way he worded it can simply mean Warzone 2 will still be available for play and all past COD games will be available for play. If they admit COD will be exclusive, then the powers that be will try to block the deal.

Nvidia tried to buy ARM for 40 billion and that shyt went downhill because Nvidia would have the game on lock if approved.

He can reference Minecraft but Bethesda is also an example of what they do.

His argument is irrational because there are plenty of games they won't put on competing platforms. If people want to argue money I'd counter with Halo or Forza also on PlayStation and Nintendo make more money than just on Xbox.

The government has a chance to step in and make an example out of Microsoft right now. They are only behaving this way because the heat was increased on them. Once the ink is dry on this what's to stop a change of policy 6-7 years later? What's to stop bad faith negotiations with a poison pill so they can pull those games and saw we tried, they wouldn't agree to our terms?

This is a chance for the government to say if you purchase a company or publisher that historically makes games on multiple platforms and you pull those games off rivals we will break you up.

Bruh its actually submitted in formal writing by Microsofts lawyers themselves. You are in for a rude awakening

"Regulators don't typically get all that concerned about a company becoming number three," Smith said. "But we're not in the world of 2018 or 2019, it's 2022. And we recognize there will be more scrutiny of any large acquisition that is being made by a large tech company. So I think that it really behooves us to step forward quickly and proactively and be very transparent about how we will manage this business, with a clear eye toward the competition law issues and responsibilities that we have."

Last week, Microsoft filed formal paperwork with the Federal Trade Commission to kickstart the merger review process, and has delivered an initial briefing to FTC staff, Smith said.

Microsoft said it has committed to Sony that popular franchises it acquires from Activision Blizzard will remain available on PlayStation under Activision's existing deal with Sony, and that it has offered to extend the deal on a "multiyear basis." The existing deal with Sony runs until 2024, Smith said.

Absolutely hilarious how Xbots on Twitter are trying to cope with this. “Maybe it’ll come to Xbox a week earlier” “maybe Xbox will get exclusive contents that Sony won’t get” :laff:

I also don’t understand the logic of this being multiplatform whilst Bethesda games are exclusive. They need to bring them to PlayStation too :smugbiden:

i think the numbers will prove sony brehs don't care about that other crap. we on sony like warzone (which is getting stale with the new vanguard integration). we'll get warzone 2 so all the other stuff is irrelevant.

I see now what the real objective is. A universal app store where you can buy software from whoever and use it on whatever device.
Microsoft: Planned universal app store for all devices and platforms
That's a pretty good play from them. Their objective is to get Game Pass on competing platforms so they run to the government and say see we'll play nice we even support a universal app store so people can use any app on any device they choose. That's something none of their competitors will want or support.

To me that means no longer needing to buy all 3 consoles because any console can play any of the other's games. Please let that happen.

To Microsoft it means Game Pass on Apple, Nintendo, and Sony devices. They DGAF about being your preferred payment processor on an app store because you're paying that Game Pass sub to them anyway and their potential customer base grows exponentially.
