All i got is bottled.

I guess Nairaland must be dead outside of the SARS shyt or they feel bold to take us on in our own circles outside of Twitter lol
Just like that @G.O.A.T Squad Spokesman nikka who went AWOL all of a sudden after the 2020 Election
My uncle told me about this when i was little, but i never heard about it again and nobody made it.
Btw, my uncle was of the great migration generation but born and raised in nj. And i knew a woman, damn near 100 y.o. in the 2010s, also born and raised in nj. In retrospect, i wonder if they were remnants of the afro dutch.
It’s highly possible that they were I’ve always been curious on the Afro Dutch and wonder if there was more of them today, would they have had a significant influence on the Ebonics of the Northeast side of Black America and would they have been able to maintain their culture with little to no change like the Gullah-Geechie, Black Seminoles, Creoles, etc. There should definitely be a thread on these unique ADOS cultural subgroups.
We not gon get the grits til monday so Monday night dinner just might be fried whiting, yellow grits, and greens.
yall eat trash ass Ox tail
So listen right....Yes, they put sugar in their grits but I absolutely promise you their shyt tastes like fukking crack, it absolutely SLAPS without question. It’s actually one of their most popular dishes and even during COVID, they stay having long ass lines during the weekends. This is what their shrimp & grits look like:
You can get the shrimp either blackened (highly recommend you do that), grilled, fried, or sautéed. I don’t think you can get them tail-less tho.
We may be East Coast in culture but the DMV hasn’t forgotten its country roots
By the 1700s, enslaved Africans made up 20% of the colony of New Amsterdam. I made a few posts in the root.Hold on, tell me more about the afro-dutch.
I'm not familiar with them at all.
Initially, I was unclear as to WHY there were maroon communities in NY at all. Slavery in NY under the Dutch was still slavery, yeah, but free black people had property rights, could marry, testify in court, etc. Free and enslaved black had churches, socialized, intermarried. The enslaved were allowed to make their own money and buy their freedom. Usually, those conditions don't prompt slave revolts (bc slaves have hope). Slaves only revolt when it looks absolutely hopeless. So it didn't make sense to me.
But then I looked into the transfer of power from the Dutch to the British and all became clear. There's a difference between having some slaves to augment your labor class and an actual slave state. An actual slave state works hard to suppress even freed slaves. And that's what happened when the British took over.
The other: NY Conspiracy of 1741
No friend, no!
cream of wheat >>>>>>>No way a majority ADOS site votes grits as "nasty"
