It IS a big difference

LT hated to lose. LT wanted a ring WHILE HE PLAYED.

What you're doing is acting as if he didn't want those things while playing but not taking his assessment of his POST NFL CAREER and reflecting on not having a ring to being in the HOF.
again, I dont have the initial source to evaluate the context.

all I know is that career/success-wise, you are absolutely right. but competitiveness-wise...I dont know

But everyone else is telling you the context and you're still stuck on this agenda as if LT DIDN'T WANT a ring.

Id rather be linked to context to be 100% sure, but okay. Ill wait for it and not make any further comments on LTs reflection

i hate teddy bruschi and his arrogant ass, that fakkit thinks just because he played on a elite defense and one of the goat qb's that he was a great or hof worthy linebacker when he was average and slow as fukk.

he needs to thank ty warren, wilfork, and ted washington for keeping lineman off of his ass so he could make plays, his bum ass wouldnt be a top 10 linebacker in the league today.

“Hall of Fame player without a ring, because you’ve got to sacrifice so much individually just to be good,” Tomlinson said. “They draft you individually and you’ve got to back them up and make them right. I think at the end of the day, even though I didn’t win a Super Bowl ring, I felt like I backed them up for drafting me. I backed up the San Diego Chargers for picking me with the fifth pick.”

:clap: 100%

The mass majority of Chargers fans knows this and hardly blame LT for not bringing a trophy to SD.

LMAO @ being eddy curry over being charles barkley

lol @ you thinking that was the point.

it was kind of an unexpected and bizarre comment from LT. I'd assume most of us have played sports...winning always felt better than the personal accolades I thought.

We're not talking how how you were remembered....LT was always going to be remembered as a great player.

Its a stupid question to begin with though. Why make hall of fame and championship a one or the other question? They dont go hand in hand at all.

Even Mark Schlereth sees it. Dude is not stupid. He answered me on twitter.

@_bigchee: Hey cuz you have 3 rings, makes you more remembered than the ringless Willie Roaf who will be in the HOF?

@markschlereth wrong TV does that!

@markschlerethWillie was a much better player than me. That's a fact he deserves the HOF I don't.

shyt is like da WWE ova dere in Bristol. :beli:

People always bring up how Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl.

:manny:

And yet he's more revered than most SB winning QBs. He's still in the convo for GOAT with nikkas with 3 and 4 SB rings and his hand is empty. People only bring it up because he was so great. Ever hear anybody bring up the fact that Scott Mitchell or Gus Ferotte never won a SB? It only matters if you matter.

I take HOF over being a marginal player on champioship team anyday especially in football. HOFers make more money throughout their career and have more opportunities after thier careers end. You play to win the game and championships, no doubt but there is only so much you can do to control that. Pleny of great players never won and plenty of not so great players got rings. Nobody gets into a sport hoping to be a marginal guy that happens to win a title. Everyone dreams of being a great player that wins. There are way more spoils that come with the great player part than their are spoils that come with just winning.

I mean, great as he has been, my lasting remembrance of him was in the 2007 AFC Championship game leaving early in the 1st quarter with a 'sore knee' after like 1 carry, never to return to the game, while fukking fakkit ass Philip Rivers played through a torn ACL.

Even Deion was questioning his desire to win then, so it's not out of the realm of fair play to assume that maybe winning wasn't as important to him as it was to other players.

I gave him props for his honesty.

On the real, he's a stand up dude on twitter.

@_bigcheePeople are using the ring argument in football like they do basketball. I appreciate your honesty.

@markschlereth anytime.
