i mean, of course when looking at the extremes, (a superstar with no ring vs a scrub with a ring) the answer is easy. But this discussion should be would you rather be a superstar with a ring and no hall of fame or a superstar without a ring and goes to the hall of fame. If i was LT, id rather have won a ring with the chargers than go to the hall of fame. We can't ignore the fact that the Hall of Fame is decided by a bunch of people who never even played the game. So many greats are left off for reasons that have nothing to do with football. To me personally, having a ring that i earned heavily can never be judged or voted on...

I don't get it. Football players for the most part are remembered for their dominance, not this new bar of ring counting that has been handed down from basketball measures to football players.

LT is going to be remembered for being dominant, with or without the ring...period. You're more than likely going to tell your kids about how a player played than how they won a ring.

This is a ESPN way of watching football. I wants not part of that bullshyt.

espn is ruining people's logic.

as a football player, all you can do is do your job and LT did that and exceeded that.

LT supposed to throw the ball for the chargers? :shaq2:

LT supposed to rush the passer? :shaq2:

LT supposed to shut down the opposing teams best wr? :shaq2:

it might sound selfish and not be the "politically correct" answer but i can't blame him.

i wouldn't lose sleep at night over not getting a ring if i had a successful career and was a future HOF :manny:

i was :smh: at how that idiot mark schlereth was boasting about how he had 3 super bowl rings and implying that LT was lying... yeah, okay buddy...

as if schlereth was a critical piece to the puzzle - you played guard a$$hole!

schlerth, along with merril hoge (fullback) and tim hasselbeck (pos qb) ride on porcelain horses 20 feet tall - fukk outta here!

Who the hell is going to remember Mark Schlereth for his rings?

Does Mark think those three rings puts him alongside ringless Willie Roaf as a FOOTBALL PLAYER?

Being inducted into the HOF is an INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT. These marginally talented players are hiding behind being fortunate enough to be on a collective team of success.

my problem with it is that while hall of famer is a much better metric to determine who the better player is...as an individual player your sole goal should be (again, imo) to want to win the title. so if you ask me whether Id want a ring or a hof/ great career with no superbowl appearances....Id take the former.

yea Ill get less money and fame...but feeling of winning something so big is something you cant experience again. marino is still salty to this day about not having a ring :manny:

I don't think he "didn't" want to win one, so your point is useless considering LT is looking BACK at his career ending without one.
