I mean, great as he has been, my lasting remembrance of him was in the 2007 AFC Championship game leaving early in the 1st quarter with a 'sore knee' after like 1 carry, never to return to the game, while fukking fakkit ass Philip Rivers played through a torn ACL. .

Of course you're going to remember that because you're a non athlete who probably doesn't take into account that a RB needs to use his legs more than a QB and the stark difference.

Even Deion was questioning his desire to win then, so it's not out of the realm of fair play to assume that maybe winning wasn't as important to him as it was to other players.

The thing is Michael Turner was LT's back-up, Billy Volek was Rivers' back-up.

Injured Rivers >>> Volek.

LT's teammates also said he was very active on the sidelines telling the offense what the defense was trying to do. The cameras never caught that, hence it never happened I guess.

He didn't end up needing surgery. He had a mild MCL sprain.

It 'looked' bad watching him sulk on the bench while his cornball QB was out their trying to win regardless. Of course he wouldn't be as effective, but it made him look like he wasn't willing to try to push through for the good of the team.

If he's on the field, even as a decoy, he gets accounted for accordingly.

I think the only way to settle this debate is to ask people who have both, which meant more. Every great player without a ring seems to say hof while scrubs with a ring say championships.

Schlreth said on the air yesterday he'd give back two of his rings for the hall but would take his first ring over anything.

maybe go by actually watching the team that year as oppose to going off names

D-Rob was not very good in 03 neither was Manu and TP was getting benched in the 4th quarter. :stopitslime: So who were the 3 VERY GOOD players that year for SAS?

That' Look on the sideline" shot by a cameraman means zero.

You're the type who think players are on some "HI!! I'm an NFL player!! I made it from pop warner, HS, college and to the pros and need LT to look upbeat to get me working harder in this playoff game!!!"

:birdman:

That "look on the sideline" thing was the most ESPN/New England area beloved crap I've seen on TV in years.

ESPN has created a ring counting culture that consistently disrespects and downplays great players accomplishments....

It's gone to far and it's discusting...

If were not talking about golf, tennis or any other single player sport. Then all a great player can do is perform on a high level. He can't control his team mates and coaches.

They need to stop this "all about rings" bullshyt...It's great to win one or more and all but it doesn't make a GREAT player any less GREAT if they never do...

Don't peg me as anything. That same instance had other former players judging him.

I'm simply making a point that he had a 'championship' moment where people can point to and say 'maybe he didn't care about that ring as much as somebody else'.

T
That shyt is for TV. You also forgot to add that he had a torn groin.

Just because a cameraman decided to pan in on him doesn't make it a story.

That shyt was a made for TV issue, and you're eating that bullshyt up.

Running backs don't play football with MCL tears or sprains.

That's some movie bullshyt.
