Erastothenes did not figure out shyt. The Egyptians happened to teach the Greeks\Hellenes geometry (geo-earth, metry- measure). He supposedly figured it out by putting sticks in the ground meanwhile the Egyptians had obelisk all over the place. So I wonder who knew what first.
Let me also add, that IMO I think the idea of khepre the dung beetle, rolling the dung into a ball, and planting his seed inside them expressing an idea about the earth and space, and a clue to the fact they thought the earth was a spherical.
Its not a sphere tho. It just the water and "gravity" fooling our eyes.

But not a single anything of the supposed "edge" of the flat world.

So if someone can produce that...
