Is this a movie I should watch in the theater or just wait until it goes on streaming?

3 hours long though. :lupe:
It's already leaked on pirate streaming sites. If you know, you know.

Personally I much prefer to watch a movie over 2 hours from the comfort of my own home, unless it's some must see special FX Avengers End Game type ish. And sometimes I'll watch half one night and half the next day. Man...the changes that come with getting :flabbynsick:. But the story looks very intriguing and of course GOAT acting and directing. Will check it over the holidays.

This is a good movie. One of Scorcese best directed films in a long time. Beautiful looking film. Probably would win best picture if not for Oppenheimer. I actually enjoyed it a bit more than Opp. Need to watch it again.

Deniro is really good. Leo takes some getting used to but is real good. Dude puts himself through a lot in these roles he takes.

Sad movie. But these injuns should've known how these crackers move. Smh.

Saw it

It was cool but you'll feel that runtime more than Oppenheimer.

Won't watch again

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
I thought it was fantastic :yeshrug:. I liked it more than Oppenheimer because the last act of Oppenheimer with the trial gets hammy. Additionally, Scorsese as a director is really interested in social contradictions and dynamism. For examples, how can a man as calculated, cunning, refined, and meticulous as Ace in Casino have such a chaotic love-life? How can a group of men that delve into extreme debauchery, criminality, and wanton violence hold so much esteem in our collective consciousness (i.e., mobsters)? How can a man that vehemently states he loves his wife and children, such that, he will swear on his children’s lives when his fidelity is questioned—also be willing to slowly poison his wife at the prospect of money? Such a man, even his name manifests a contradiction when you consider his true constitution (i.e., Ernest/Earnest).

Like, M.S. I am also incredibly intrigued by the interplay of social contradictions as social phenomena, so this movie just really resonated with me. This shyt had me legit hating white people during the film too :yeshrug:. Someone said, “Oh, the Osage should’ve known how white people get down.” Listen, history shows that once you’re in close proximity with white people—it’s too late. What’s the old saying about a rooster in the hen house? Japan kept them out for a longggggggg ass time for a reason.

Lastly, M.S. doesn’t really do crazy cinematography or anything, but all the cuts are so precise and sleek. He also just adds little details in his films that creates an added layer of immersion. For instance, Mollie leaving the dude that controls her funds office, and he shows her stepping on his door mat upon her exit. What does that little bit add to the story? Not much, but it’s that fine detail attuned with how people navigate the material world, which flows well as when he transitions into the next scene. Obviously, he’s a fantastic moviemaker.

Good film, but I think it could’ve been done under 3 hours. Interesting story I never even heard of. Probably a film I’ll watch again many years from now.

Also, fukk dem cacs. :pacspit:
