What the fukk does this have to do with the thread? There is a massive ppg bias on the coli when it comes to modern players. (Which, of course, completely disappears when they're talking about pre-1990 legends because they only repeat what they're told to think on those guys anyway.)
The fact that he was such an inefficient and limited scorer despite playing post-1990 shows just how overrated he is. Nobody is saying he's a bum. The problem with this board is y'all seem to conflate overrated = bad. That's not what overrated means.
When you've got cats saying he was doing what Jokic is doing now at the PG position that means he's being overrated. When you've got cats saying the Spurs would've won five straight titles with him that means he's being overrated. When you've got cats saying he's at least the second-best passer ever that means he's being overrated.
He's heralded as one of the GOAT PGs because of his ability to make his team and teammates better, but he couldn't even run a high-level offense during a period where offensive basketball was at one of its lowest points. He struggled mightily to score in the half court, he was destroyed in the playoffs by the likes of Avery Johnson (who was a league-average guard), he wasn't even treated as an offensive threat during his day - the list goes on.
