Its ok to say you prefer one over the other but there’s no two album run that’s going to top hov’s discog and truth be told LAD isn’t the certified classic y’all think it is whole lot of filler on that. If he were still alive and had more music you would have a better case

Me and my homeboy said that back in 1997. We were real hip hop heads and not followers of the mainstream at the time. I remember getting that May 1997 issue of the source and seeing that LAD had 5 mics and knew what time it was back then. No way is that a 5 mic album. But they had to do it cuz he was killed and the Source was an east coast-based magazine. Great album, but way too much filler. Mfers back then and even now act like you can put the album on and every song is dope. goddamn liars

The man is lyrically razor sharp and witty as hell when he wants to be - like anybody else he can get lazy - but he isn't the complete conceptual all-rounder that BIG was. That's not disrespect, that's just what it is.

who exactly? Because there was no social media in 1993. No NBA network and the only access you had to teams were their own local channels, that you could access with a satellite dish around the nation. ESPN started that "goat" bullshyt for ratings and something to talk about because no one ever called anyone a greatest ever prior to 1993 in the NBA. Now we have full shows, youtube channels, podcasts, magazines and all types of media dedicated to some shyt that doesn't exist. Even jordan himself said there is no such thing. You have teammates, GMSs, coaching, and eras that go into team sports. Basketball/Football/Baseball/hockey isn't tennis, boxing, or golf. It's a team sport and everything must fall into place to win titles. There is a reason only 2 players in the history of the NBA have won titles without another hall of fame teammate. The shyt is extremely rare and borderline impossible the past 30 years. (if you're wondering who they are, it's Hakeem in 94 and Walton in 77).
