Jay wins the longevity battle, but I prefer B.I.G.
You see what I'm talking about? I clown my GOAT on here all the time
Some of these stans here can't criticize anything about their favorites
You replace City Is Mine, Face Off and I Know What Girls Like with some of his loosies around that time and that album is SO much better. Sunshine can stay, it was the corny video and the other surrounding bullshyt that drags down it's value. On a good album it's just like Ain't No nikka, a harmless semi skippable radio grab. But with the other songs I mentioned it's just some more bullshyt lolThe album was dope. The only problem is the singles Jay chose were ass. He was trying to cash in on the Puffy phase of 80s samples. "Wishing on a star" was the only good single released, but by then it was too late. The hot joints he put out as videos on the Streets is Watching VHS. To this day I will never understand why he didnt release "imaginary player" as a video when it's easily one of the best songs on the album.
who exactly? Because there was no social media in 1993. No NBA network and the only access you had to teams were their own local channels, that you could access with a satellite dish around the nation. ESPN started that "goat" bullshyt for ratings and something to talk about because no one ever called anyone a greatest ever prior to 1993 in the NBA. Now we have full shows, youtube channels, podcasts, magazines and all types of media dedicated to some shyt that doesn't exist. Even jordan himself said there is no such thing. You have teammates, GMSs, coaching, and eras that go into team sports. Basketball/Football/Baseball/hockey isn't tennis, boxing, or golf. It's a team sport and everything must fall into place to win titles. There is a reason only 2 players in the history of the NBA have won titles without another hall of fame teammate. The shyt is extremely rare and borderline impossible the past 30 years. (if you're wondering who they are, it's Hakeem in 94 and Walton in 77).

There's an alternate universe where Jay gets Luchini and that's his lead single
1984…Before The NBA
haha, we all know about that interview. I need to know who these NBA players were in 1993 calling jordan the goat. I know goddamn well it wasn't Hakeem because he was pissed Robinson got the MVP over him in 95. I know it wasn't Robinson. Even Slam magazine (who has been one of the biggest jordan dik riders in existence) weren't even saying that in their early years of publication after Jordan's first retirement.
A better analogy would be if Mike did all the bolded within the span of those two rings. And no way is Jay Lebron, doesn't have the longevity nor consistency.Put this another way. Michael Jordan retires after 2 rings. The 3peat doesn’t happen. The second 3peat doesn’t happen. 72 wins doesn’t happen. Flu game doesn’t happen. The first GW over Russell doesn’t happen. The shot doesn’t happen.
Meanwhile, Lebron has the same career he has now
Is Mike still the goat?
I look at it this way:
- Reasonable Doubt > Ready To Die
- Life After Death > All Jay-Z albums
