Genre is cooked if a diss where not a single bar was spat and a nikka moaned half his verse means he’s up 1-0 because it’s “in the club”.

Of course in the club there’s a machine behind Kendrick, Future, and Metro and there is shock value attached to the track due to the dissing.

Kendrick song isn’t a diss for him to be up 1-0 it’s a call out.
I said “I had Kendrick up 1 because I didn’t think Cole diss made that much sense”. I saw it as just comparing Like That diss verses 7 Minute Drill diss. Cole’s diss to me is responding to the strays Kendrick sent at him. As a response it wasn’t great. Before him bowing out I felt like he was kind of reaching, and it lowkey did more damage to himself than Kendrick.

Me saying “I felt it’d be hot for a week tops” is just me saying I didn’t think it would have any impact for example how Like That is right now. And I agree with you that there’s a machine that’s going to push that record but that’s just the industry. It isn’t like the record is bad and being forced lol. People were going to love that record with or without the diss. But, the disses by Kendrick made the song that much better. If it was “A nikka moaned half his verse” I don’t think Metro/Future would have accepted and kept the verse on there. They knew what they were doing, Cole sounded like he didn’t in his song imo.

You said “Kendrick song isn’t a diss for him to be up 1-0 it’s a call out. Cole lost for being a p*ssy peacemaker not because Kendrick had this great diss.” Fair enough, that’s your opinion. But there were some people saying Cole was up 1-0. If Kendrick verse was considered by most as just a call out then the score would be 0-0 until Kendrick responded and then people could say who was up 1.

EDIT: Also I think in this day and age it’s not just the music/diss, but it’s the chess move behind it as well. It just is what it is these days. When Drake disses Kendrick the machine being behind Drake will be expected but Drake is gonna have to still come correct. Not just go look up Kendrick hate threads and rap lies that even himself and most people do not believe. It seemed like Cole did that. It was the wrong approach/strategy.

I knew that “fell off like the simpsons” bar would forever change hip hop! Dumb, trash and very forced! Funny how fast it came full circle!⭕️ but non jokingly us older cats knew this was something Cole didn’t want, you could clearly hear the tone and the performance in his verse. Again I ask, who made the call? There is some backdoor shyt going on trying to use Cole as the target dummy when he was not a target to begin with. Its time to red wedding this nikka drake!!!! He lined Cole up and Cole finally peep this and bowed out like a man.

Not legit beef and these dudes are older now. The apology makes sense to me :yeshrug:

Nah if it's not legit beef then there's no reason to squash it. Everybody knows it's not that serious, this is not a heated 90's/00's no holds barred type of battle. It's not like Kendrick viciously attacked Cole, he just said I'm bigger and better than you two. Kendrick clearly wants the competition and Cole tried but then completely fumbled. The thing is isn't Cole supposed to be a lyricist first and a rapper's rapper? He knows what the game is and what's at stake here even if it isn't real beef.

Cole can never drop rap king bars anymore. Only gotta be biblical and philosophical.

He laid down his crown 👑 for the kingdom to grow.

Rappers are emotional now. It is what it is. Don’t know why he decided to apologize but I think it’s on brand for rappers that aren’t drill rappers. Oh well.

"The best supposed to clash at the top, to be the best you challenge the best"~ Nas. Cole let Nas down again :snoop:. Bad thing about this is not only did the song slightly overshadowed the project he put out, this is gonna further going to over shadow it and not have people interested in The Fall Off now :beli:
