CDPR marketed themselves as some type of industry Golden Child while simultaneously shytting on other publishers(Claimed they didn't need to crunch to make great games like other stuidos, All those tweets claiming they have all this transparency with gamers, Statements about quality being their top priority and a 90+ MC score was their standard/goal, etc...). Then we found out all that was bulshyt.

It's 100% on them.
Not going to lie, but this is why I am enjoying some of the backlash. I'm glad their hubris finally caught up to them.

don't rush out to get a next gen console then. stadia or even nvidia's streaming for it should've been the move over trying to play this on last gen hardware in the first place

instead people lining up to play what is guaranteed to be the worst version of a delayed game from a developer that has consistently been terrible about its console focus

Why should fans have to do that when the company included previous generation consoles into the mix? That’s on the company for that mishap and not the fans. A lot of people who bought or play video games are casuals and might not have had any clue about the circumstances surrounding the game. Again that’s on the company and not the fans.

They wanted the quick money and mislead people about how the game performed on previous generation controls. They should have made sure that shyt could run correctly or never put it on there in the first place.

See, you're describing a console dependency problem and consumers not even attempting to know the options they have more than anything else.

Like wait. Or get stadia (on a free trial no less....).

They got their quick money - and their PC base, the only group CDPR has ever given a real fukk about, is chillin. And if you think Sony/MS won't throw this shyt right back on their sales platforms the first chance they get, you're tripping :mjlol: shyt if anything they'll run pockets twice with a new edition. There is no gotcha moment in this or learning point for the business side of things. If that's what yal are arguing, its fukking pointless when far more egregious shyt goes down on a monthly basis.

I refuse to believe this is anyone here's first time dealing with a game that didn't line up with E3 trailers.

On here isn’t the first time anyone has heard about it, but there are more than likely millions of others who didn’t. You think a parent or someone who buys the game for someone else, knows the problems and current state of the game? They misled people about the state of the games and no spinning that anyone can do to change that. They even admitted so their self, so of course people would be pissed.

As I said in a previous thread, if you’re a gamer and knew the circumstances surrounding the state of the game and still bought it anyways, then that’s on you. If you’re a non-casual and had no clue, then you have a totally valid excuse.

Exaggerated. Madden is garbage and glitchy every single year, and has never been pulled from an online store. It’s only a big deal, because people acted like Cyberpunk was gonna cure cancer, and scheduled everything in their lives around the game.
People were hyped for the game because CDPR had a great marketing rollout for this game. I'll give credit where it's due.

And other publishers have definitely released games at a quality that I would consider unaccepatable and used deceptive marketing to promote their software (CG trailers, gameplay only being shown on mid-gen upgraded hardware, only PC gameplay, etc).

Here's the thing though.. The rest of those publishers weren't sticking their chest out like CDPR.

They put themselves in this position. They aren't some new kid on the block and know how high the stakes are with AAA game development. Gamers put up with a lot of nonsense and give passes for stuff that should get checked. Too much imo. But there is a point where something becomes indefensible. And at that point the floodgates are open and nobody is going to save you from those sharks.

why would they give a fukk now? those are the LAST people to tripping about drops in FPS and texture pop in :mjlol: people laugh at bugs then move on. skyrim would've never taken off otherwise

the vast majority simply ain't that invested in the first place. may as well pretend that fortnite vs apple was some groundshaking development too

Who cares if it’s the first or 1,000th time? Why the fukk are riding the dikk of a company that blatantly lied about the state of their game and withheld information about it?

Anti-consumer practices should always be villafied. I feel like you were the same dude that was sucking Anthem off too on release.

You’re giving a pass and making an excuse for the company’s fukk up. They mislead investors and that’s a bigger problem in and of itself. You might not think it’s a big deal, but they sure as hell think differently.

Heads are about the roll and someone has to take the fall for this blunder.

I hate disingenuous posts like this lack all the fukkin context in the world.

Bugs in open worlds happen. No one stresses minor graphical bugs, wonky stuff happening with AI, etc.

This game is bugged and almost completely unplayable on current gen hardware, it’s buggy to an immersion breaking level on next gem hardware but somewhat playable, and it’s still pretty buggy on good PCs.

shyt is bananas.

how am i riding anyone?

there's anti-consumer and saying consumers, especially the minority who engage on this type of back and forth online and follow games closer than anyone, should know that the last gen version was gonna be ass.

thing is, i can enjoy a buggy or imperfect game. i'm not gonna pretend that rdr2 was a masterpiece at release to make a point, i'm not gonna forget people hyped fallout games up to the heavens when save files could load different ways depending on what time of day it was, not gonna pretend like diablo didn't come out with a real money auction house that people had no problem with until they got priced out, etc

yal play worse shyt than this :russ: and not all anti-consumer practices are the same either. there's more hate for trailers getting people hyped in a game with no microtransactions than yet another mailed in 2k release that runs ads the point where player should be getting paid for it while having a fukking casino in the game

and people want to act like a bad port is the final straw? switch owners will pop bottles just to get a shytty port :dead:

It's both exaggerated and deserved. I seriously thought Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be a GTA killer with RPG mechanics. it looked like it would be too much.

A video like this shouldn't even be entertained but yet there's validity to it.

GTA IV. An early gen title from Gen 7 :wow:

Rockstar is in no rush to make a new game.

Somewhere tropic...
Game clearly needed another 6 mnths of baking in the oven.
Still released in time for the holidays cause of...lol money
They obfuscated gaming journalists and the information presented to the public.
Not to mention the crunch pressure put on developers (if you care about that sort of thing)
Updates are breaking more shyt instead of fixing them (screen menus, game saves)
It's a clusterfukk of epic proportions :ehh:
Let's be clear, I think there's a great game in there somewhere
But CDPR gotta eat these criticisms breh :yeshrug:
If it was a Sony game, some nikkas on this forum would be absolutely ruthless:mjpls:

This is real shyt. I think if u really try to treat this like an open world GTA type adventure that shyt falls REALLY flat. But if u play it for the missions and main story it’s way doper than GTA imo. And it’s prettier. I honestly think they were so focused on the looks and scale of the game they didn’t spend enough time on how interactive everything should be.
