How much is a mid range
i bought an alienware last year for like $1200.

its i7-1770k
16gb (it came with 8 but i took another 8 from my laptop)
2070
128gb ssd (I replaced it later with a 256gb)
1tb HDD
and I added another 2 HDD from my old laptop

this is what i mean. once you already have equipment, its not as expensive anymore. you can bring components from a prior laptop or rig, you can buy things slowly. upgrade (like I did my SSD). shyt like that.

I don't know if I'd recommend it unless you have $$$$ to throw away.

My boy gave me an entire rig minus the gfx card.

I thought "hmm I'll get a cheap one see whats up"

Bought a 1050ti $160

Wasn't running the games at a high framerate that I wanted.

I7 processor $350
Cooling system $200
1080ti $500
1440p monitor $500
Ssd m.2 hd $180

It's good at 1440p, but for 4k it's not the greatest.

They have the new 30 series cards coming out, which are up to $1500

I'm not sure if you wanna get into this! You'll spend some money, but it's worth it if you use it. Just my 2 cents

i have the 1050ti does everything I need :heh:

CALI
It's not unlike the custom cars
This is a good example.

It's not outrageously expensive but it does take a higher level of dedication than the average person would be willing to put in.

Cars for example

Some people like to drive, some people like driving nice cars, some people like customizing manual transmission cars with aftermarket parts even though it can be a pain to drive sometimes and requires constant maintenance.

So before I go and get the RTX 3080 I have to return the card I was using temporarily and upgrade. I had an old R9 280 card laying around(from 2014) which I checked is about 3TF(GCN1 though.)

Basically it's a old ass card. To my surprise I was able to play Modern Warfare on ultrawide at 70fps but with everything on low and resolution 50% of my native resolution.

If I was playing at 1080P I'm sure I could play at higher settings with a higher resolution. Basically, you don't need to always upgrade. Upgrading is just optional.

With PC you can build around what you prefer. 1080P/60fps or 120fps or 1440P/60fps~120fps or higher. I like mid-high end so I'm content with ultrawide 3440x1440 at 115HZ for games. I can also do 4K/60fps on the TV now that I will have the 3080 so I'm set for like 4~5 years.
