The question isn't about technical skills or overall fighters though.


The question is, "is Floyd The Best Ever" and the answer is no...he's not the best Boxer ever.


I don't care about anyone's opinion on Floyd's "skills" on this topic, because the thread is not titled "Is Floyd the most skilled ever" or "Is Floyd the best pure Boxer ever" or even "Is Floyd the best technician ever". When somebody asks who is the best ever...it means is he the best Boxer to ever walk through those ropes, and you agree that he isn't.

i dont think ppl realize the type of pressure margarito was putting on cats in the 2000s...he holds the record for most punches thrown in a fight for a reason...he was a very dangerous welterweight in his prime

his pressuring style was one dimensional and he had success doing that against brawlers or fighters who didn't hold
mosley embarassed him with simple footwork, right hands, and holding. he did not adjust once
floyd would have embarassed him, no question about it.
hell, cotto was whipping him in the first fight until dem bricks starting getting harder
but besides that, cotto didn't hold in the first fight, but he did in the second. if he would of held he wouldn't of gotton so tired and probably could of beat him cheating and all

I never said Pacquiao would walk through Floyds punches..Everyone expected him to be reckless come forward only throwing punches bunches.. and he did the opposite. Instead of him throwing a thousand punches.. He fought Floyds fight and boxed him straight up, fought smart and conservative, winning 4(imo 5) rounds

As far as Margerito. When he got beat by Shane, PWill, and Pac, they all stood toe to toe and landed great punches with conviction.. punches intending to hurt.. Floyd doesn't do this, he would've done A LOT of holding like YOU mentioned.. i didnt say he fought fighters AS tall as this
i said hes fought fighters who "are taller than him and are pressure fighters"
and had no problems
paul williams fought like he was 5'3. never used his size advantage so its pretty much a non factor in regards to that. ( i don't like dissing paul williams i;m a fan but the way he fought was frustrating at times)
