Both Paul Williams AND Margarito would've given Floyd huge problems

I don't see it. No footwork from either. Both don't use a jab to get inside. only thing going in their favor is activity and size advantage, and Floyd neutralizes both easily.

Honestly the only dude I could see Beating Floyd from 140-154 is Lara

tommy hearns is the absolute worst stylistic matchup for floyd u could create. floyd would take that L 100 outta 100 times.

that being said, williams could never fight like tommy hearns for the simple reason that he didn't have anywhere close to hearns power, in fact the only thing punisher has over him is a better chin. yea he threw a lotta shots per round but he had a low connect percentage and that would obviously be even lower against floyd. he def has a chance but i think floyd would outbox him like lara did and win a close decision.

Floyd and Lara are about the same size, Lara probably has the longer reach I have to look it up, But the results imo would have been basically the same against Floyd. His biggest strength against FM would have been his activity level, problem with that like everybody else Floyd is cutting your punch output in half. 9" reach advantage means nothing if you don't utilize it which Pwill never did. Which is why I always felt he should have mimic T.Hearns style, fighting Mexican style against Floyd is dumb honestly. JLC was only successful the 1st fight against FM because of his hand being damage, Madaina was somewhat successful because Floyd stayed on the ropes and fought on the inside a lot that fight, same with Cotto. If not for Margarito slow start in that fight he would've won. PWill barely held on to win and it was basically due to the first 6 rds.

I do agree Diego would have lost against Paul, because styles make fights and Diego tendency to get caught up in brawling would've worked against him. But from a Technical standpoint Chico was the better boxer of the 2 imo.

Good points brehs, I disagree of course, but you brought up good view points on your stances:salute:

Unfortunately we will never know how it would play out in real life:mjcry:

If there was any Champion that fought in Floyd's era, that I would've loved to see him fight and he didn't, it would've been Paul Williams:to:

:wow:

I always wanted to see Paul Williams fight Cotto.

Cotto would have taken a combination of the Manny and Margarito punishment all in one fight. :whew:

The only reason I like watching Cotto fight is to watch in hopes to see him get punished:heh:

I don't know why, but I've always disliked Cotto....even at Junior Welterweight:wow:

And low key, Judah was beating him until Cotto started the PR Boxers trademark go to move (low blows):sas2:

I feel you breh.

I hated Cotto so much, I even picked Paulie to beat him. fukking Paulie breh. :scust::what:nikkas at my gym at the time shytted on me for that pick.

I didn't learn to respect Cotto until he beat Shane. (Although I was low-key impressed by the Quintana performance)

You already know I got my :smugbiden: when Margarito came and crushed those buildings. nikkas were heated that I called that one right. :damn:

My beef with Cotto is that he takes too many punches.
He's tough, has good power and a great hook to the body.
But a guy of his level takes way too many punches that he doesn't need to take.

He only recently (maybe his last 2 fights) started to use his defense to avoid getting hit.

It'll be interesting to see how the Canelo fight plays out, since I don't think Canelo tries very hard to avoid punches either.
I mean Canelo basically stood toe to toe with Kirkland and that's pretty fukkin dangerous even with a guy as unpolished as Kirkland.

TBE no but I love when he says it, it really pisses white America off.

But he is one of the smartest fighters ever. He finds ways to get at his opponents before the first bell rings he knows how to troll people. One thing he's always said is if he's facing a guy who has even 1 loss that guy has already lost against him. He rarely watches fight film and still knew how to dissect an opponent.

If a younger faster and stronger Canelo Alvarez was schooled by him what chance did Manny have, but get that $100 for that fight Floyd. Speaking of Canelo if he goes on to do great things but that 1 loss is still because of Floyd maybe people start giving Floyd more credit.

That's some profound hate esp picking a very prime 140 version of Cotto to lose to a brittle handed slickster...shyt in contrast i wanted paulie to get the beating of his life....have to respect it lol

he's The Best Entertainer, the best boxer tho ? :patrice:

one of the goat defensive fighters for sure tho dude is 38 slipping lightining fast jabs like he's 17.

He hasn't displayed his versatility enough in his last fights tho apart from the berto fight, dude has combinations for days and crazy offensive mindgames.

A shame he's retired :to:
How the hell is Floyd Mayweather the best entertainer in boxing history?!?!? :dahell:

In all seriousness how much more credit does Floyd need? Even his harshest critic considers him the best fighter of his generation.

Paul Williams is overrated like a mutherfukker on here and I'm a fan. Floyd would never lose to a Paul Williams. Paul Williams never used his height and honestly fought pretty stupid in a lot of his fights
