As far as the work rate talk fighters with quick hands tend to shut down high work rate guys because they are getting hit with shots they don't see coming. We've seen this movie a million times in regards to work rate that was supposed to give Floyd problems.

What did that work rate look like against Mosley who kept landing straight right hands OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER that he never saw coming. That "Iron chin" wasn't looking so iron and that work rate wasnt looking like it normally does. Floyd hits him with a million rights wraps him up inside wins easy decision and everyone cries about him being boring.

Two knocks on him were that he backed up in straight lines and would give away throwing his right hand by his backfoot. Do y'all (non stans) think he ever fixed this, if so how? If not, how'd he cover it up?

I don't have a problem with pulling straight back unless you do it with your chin in the air like the generic eurocacs

When I posted that in the general thread you were the only breh to respond to me so I appreciated that. When did floyd start fighting mostly out of the shell (not the modified shoulder roll)? I always thought that fixed it. I mean Maidana was the only breh to 'take advantage' of it, and that was for like 4 rounds out of 24.

i dont think pulling straight back is wrong but it can be wrong because by pulling back in a straight line you can be forced back in a straight line and get pinned to the ropes or back into a corner.

the reason that you see circular movement in boxing is because the ring is a square. you use circular movement to avoid being forced back in a straight line to the ropes or into a corner.

the reason that floyd doesnt give away his pull counter is because he shows you that pull back movement a lot

and when floyd does throw a pull counter it comes out of nowhere because you have to guess which one of those pull back movements is going to turn into a pull counter and when you fight floyd thats like looking for a needle in a haystack.

its a guessing game but when you guess right you win big because the motion of your counter right hand is naturally slipping the pull counter through the space that you have next to you right ear and over your right shoulder.

don't want to derail the thread but those pull counter drills you advised me to do were fire flame

nikkas were thinking I was going to another gym the way my jab and counter have improved I've been sparring a lot less though I'm getting old n shyt and am not recovering as quick as I used to. but yeah thank you for your help breh
