If Lamar Jackson looked like Jalen Hurts would he get the credit he deserves?

ESPN had Lamar ranked at 7th at the start of the season.

They list him number 3 and he's had an injury plagued last few years :comeon:

He was ranked 1st or 2nd after his first MVP season.

Lamar is praised by any knowledgeable football fan, the media votes for MVP and they've crowned him MVP twice in his 5 years and he has one of the biggest contracts in NFL history. What more credit is he supposed to be getting for a QB with no chip and shakey (so far) playoff resume?

The point is, he’s had to fight and undeniably prove it time and time again, while others get propped over him at any sign of vulnerability from him. Most of the QBs placed above him at the beginning of the year have had their own struggles with injuries but that wasn’t held against them.

Ain't nobody getting propped in front of him other than Mahomes and sometimes Burrowes. You keep saying "others" but not showing anything that reflects that. Even after a trying past few years he's still considered Top 3 QB and that list you posted shows it.

Hurts just has a better PR team. A better story so more people gravitate towards him.

His HS head coach was his dad.

Played at Bama got benched. Made a comeback and almost won the Heisman at another school.

Got drafted and was never actually expected to play a down of football and took a team to the SuperBowl.
Saints passed on Hurts twice too

No, his “preseason rank was 7th”

Don’t care how much he’s been injured there hasn’t been anywhere near 6 QBs better than him in the league since he was a rookie.

It’s the doo-doo braids. :yeshrug:

He doesn’t have the head shape for it plus he doesn’t seem to ever get it lined up or tapered.:yeshrug:

Stop it, breh. Injuries definitely will drop a player in rankings. Lamar has been healthy, performing well and just got his 2nd MVP in a few years. If these other QBs you say are getting more credit than him why you can't show anything that reflects that other than a preseason ranking after a couple injury plagued years?
