It ain't better than Dollars + Sense either. And if Dre Day came out now it would def get played everywhere. shyt it got played everywhere then. shyt is in a bunch of movies and everything.

Now is not then though.

And there is no modern version of "Dre Day" to compare it to. If "Not Like Us" is #1, "Like That" was #1, "Euphoria" was #3....I dunno why you think a track like "Dre Day" would be mainstream in 2024.

And I don't understand comparing "Not Like Us" to all these classic diss records. The song came out 3 weeks ago, we have no idea how it (or any of the other ones) will be viewed years from now.

It won against Drake, I dunno what other yardstick it currently needs aside from that. No one compared "Ether" to "No Vaseline", 3 weeks after it came out.

It's being compared even in articles online. I saw an article that had 2 of them shyts over Ether. Which is insane to me. But yea. Are u saying we can't compare these to diss tracks of the past? If so. Why not? Why is it that these Kendrick songs are the first set of diss songs in history that we can't compare to prior diss tracks? I honestly really don't care about them being number 1 or 3 or whatever they are because that means nothing to me in this landscape. I'm speaking on the quality off the tracks. I said this same shyt when they tried to pull that shyt with Back To Back. Story Of Adidon. Etc etc. All that shyt get hype until the moment is over. The only diss track out this whole battle that has legs is Not Like Us and that's because it's like a west coast anthem more than a diss track.

I like Kendrick and don't fuk with Drake at all but people are just living in the moment and tryna be up on trends by hyping his track more than it should be...people really in here tryna make a case that his diss or any of these recent disses are among the best let alone the top 5-10 of Hip-Hop diss records?

Lol, nah...Not Like Us is nice however maybe it's just me but I feel like it's more of a catchy club song that has a few direct and subliminal references but not a song that's dedicated in its entirety to dissing the opposing artist. No Vaseline, Hit Em Up, etc were songs made with the intention of particular artists/people being dissed throughout its entirety.

Cube is 100% right that No Vaseline is better than Not Like Us. Cube's diss is in the top 5-10 category of all time, obviously, Gen Z and younger aged millennials (born in that 93-95 range) will probably prefer Kendrick because he's among their era so Cube and the stuff he's saying on Vaseline (along with it's beat) doesn't musically resonate for most of them.

So he should. Battle rap is a competitive sport. You don't concede defeat, you stand as the best until proven otherwise. :childplease:

Fragile ass 2024 people act like it's a big deal a rapper says he's the GOAT or his song's the dopest when rappers have been saying that pretty much constantly since 1978.:camby:

Except.

When have you listened to No Vaseline on purpose in this century?

I have bumped Second Round KO, Ether, and even Roxanne's Revenge on purpose within the past 12 mos.

He thinks he ended NWA with that record, but he actually ended them when he left. And judging by Dr Dres catalog afterward, he didn't even slow Dre down.

Kendrick made a dis record that went pop, and ended the biggest artist for the PAST TWO DECADES.

Drake has had multiple battles. Like JZ, he even "lost" to Pusha T.. but Drake kept on trucking and Pusha T is fairly obscure in 2024.

And Drake was firing back in real time. Kendrick had to use multiple dis tracks to outgun Drake.

Not to mention: Common bloodied Cube's nose and Cube had to eat that.

Will get played out soon :yeshrug:

Meet the Grahams>>>>>Europhoria>>>>>>>>>6:16>>>>>>Not Like Us

The only reason why heads enjoy that diss record because Kenny had to dumb down to get the radio spins. Otherwise, the ADHD heads will say Drake won :francis:

And I actually loved all those diss tracks.

Nas had the highest degree of difficulty taking it Jay.

Cube bodied NWA but it's not really fair when he was the only lyricist in the group and two of them weren't rappers, 1 was a DJ, and Ren wasn't close to Cube's level.

Big never responded so we never got a battle.
