NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Jay and Nas were both trying to end each other’s careers make no mistake about it.

“Career’s come to an end/its only so long fake thugs can pretend”

“Feel these hot rocks fellas/put you in a dry spot fellas/in a pine box with 9 shots from my glock fellas”
No they weren’t. This is a flat out lie. They were literally fighting for King Of NY. This something no amount a paragraphs gonna be able to get u out of cause u was an outsider during that beef. Anyone who wasn’t from NY was. All the polls from radio stations. All of that was all about King Of NY. Matter fact all of the New York beefs that came after that became about that for a while. Which is why even cats like Joe Budden even said “these other nikkas fighting for New York like it’s worth that much..”

He filed a lawsuit against UMG for shady tactics. Not Kendrick. And like I said. Jay was ready to box Nas for losing the battle and people just saying fukk Jay Z. Imagine if he had the WORLD screaming Jay is a Pedo. Who the fukk knows what Jay would've done. Jay begged for the battle with Nas too. And still took the loss like a sore loser. Still cried. Still wanted to fight. Nas performing Ether at Superbowl would've made Jay wanna smoke that nikka. Guaranteed. If Jay had to deal with what Drake dealing with he would probably see Kendrick and beat him up on camera.
It is a proxy lawsuit. If Drake were to win this lawsuit, it would make diss tracks damn near illegal in the future. Anyone signed to a label would not be able to diss someone on the ground that their label could be successfully sued if that record is released by the label. We know who Drake is as a person. He'd sue Kendrick directly if his pride allowed him to.

I don’t even want anymore diss tracks from mainstream rappers. shyt is all too corny and corporate at this point. And nikkas can still release em they just can't be officially backed by a label. It would have to be like what Cole did with his Clouds record.

Miller said something interesting about this, this is the first time in history we have a clear consensus on a rap song being the goat one.

Kendrick really pushing bondaries, and to think he initially dropped NLU without label backing, for free, and shyt became a smash hit before any industry push :whew:

Labels don’t like for their artist music to be released outside of the label, especially if they’re a big artist. Cole released it on the blog, but a day later it was available for streaming platforms. The diss songs back and forth between Kendrick and Drake were released on YouTube as regular videos before the label picked them up and put them in streaming platforms.

And this shyt ain’t corny to me. Takeover was released via the label, Ether was released by the label. The label is going to be involved if you’re a big enough artist. It is what it is. Drake would have loved to have a Not Like Us. But he didn’t and now he in his feelings.

You are the number one commenter in practically every Kendrick Drake thread. Just put the threads on ignore and they’re gone.

Outside of Hit em up. Rappers would put their diss records on their albums which is backed by the label

NLU, the goat diss track, was only backed by the label once it became a phenomenon, shyt was already the biggest track before the label decided to support it...the beautiful thing with a track this big is that you can't rewrite history as everything is well documented.

Spliz the historian needs to work harder
