Sweden also has high gun ownership rates. But every citizen is required to serve in the military and learns discipline and gun safety and as a result, they don't have any mass shootings despite lots of them owning guns. The good guy with a gun argument works if you actually train people to be good guys with their guns.

If the NRA didn't exist, I'd agree with that as being feasible. Unfortunately, it does exist and it has a strong lobby. Add that to the fact that the military industrial complex needs profits, at all costs, since they can't profit off of fighting the USSR and communism across the world anymore.

I think it's not possible anymore. America was not too different from Finland, Switzerland, or Finland before the late 80s, early 90s. Soon as laws started to relax, especially by 2004, we lost. It's not about 2A anymore.

I was referring to point 1. Most (80%) of democrats don't own guns, he is part of the 20% that do.
