It's a good show after you complete the whole product, but I'd be lying if I said It's a show I'd watch or want to watch again like I would The Wire, Breaking Bad, Oz, House, Sopranos, Better call saul, The Corner or any other dramatic show similar enough to it. Don Draper, much like Bojack Horseman is a character that I never took to since I'm not really keen on seeing white men do white men things for hours on end, while not being generally entertained by it.
The charasmatic piece of shyt that was schtupping the red head was prolly the only bright spot of Mad Men that had me watching it without pure disgust. That and the situation involving Don's "Wife".
I remember feeling that way when I first started watching. It doesn’t try to reel you in quickly but eventually you just start loving the characters and becoming super invested. A top 5 maybe top 3 show for me
