nikkas act like he’s seriously the second coming but I never got what was supposed to be so special about him.

From his image to punchlines to the structure of his songs/albums/mixtape, he is the definition of zero charisma. Pretty much the anti-Ghostface Killah.

I’m a fan now but it took me a VERY long time to understand what the big deal was about Mobb Deep.

Thinking back to when I first started to explore the classics as a a young teen..whereas I INSTANTLY understood the appeal when I heard Illmatic, 36 Chambers, etc…first time I heard the Infamous like “WTF is this dark, sleepy shyt?”
:scust:Who's mans is this :camby:

fukk it. Ill get crucified for this shyt but Run DMC. Its so remedial too me. Now i like that eras LL, kool g, slick rick, ultamagentic etc.

But run dmc music has no appeal to me. Some beats were okay but without them on it.

I respect them because the community does. But not for me at all.

CATS NAMIN MAD LEGENDS IN HERE LOLLL
We have rakim mutiple times and nas. Dont see jay or big yet. Still scrolling through.

Threads like these always got me wondering about ppl on here.

Plus they obviously cant read. Its says previous generationn yet we naming artist after 2010. Unless we have 14 yr old posting.

Which confirms my original thought

Kendrick Lamar outside of GKMC or when he decides to turn up (Euphoria, DNA, etc.)

In general, pro-black rappers do nothing for me because it's essentially like rapping to the wall. Their words aren't changing anything.
What makes Kendrick a “pro black” rapper? I wouldn’t even say he’s a conscious rapper. I wouldn’t consider TPAB a “pro black” album either, despite being placed in that box.

as much as i love some of rakims music, if you were around you know he wasnt even the best out in real time. no idea why or when he became this deity

big...him being the best ever came out of nowhere after he died

jay z...took great pains to "appear" to be whatever and it worked. not for everybody tho

Came in here to post Outkast. I tried and tried. Just not feeling it

their first joint is dope

everything afterwards got progressively too flamboyant and "alternative" for my taste

it's still a mystery how Andre 3k in particular got put in the GOAT discussion when that nikka goofy af and not much of a rapper

not to mention when he started drinking his own kool-aid and rapping like he's some sort of hip-hop messiah :francis: that nikka really need a reality check
