Finally got 5 gallons of gas. My neighbor has been running missions for folks, got his ass up at 6 just to grab us some gas and an elderly neighbor some bottled water. Best $30 ever spent.

:blessed:

And I'm just now finding out that the storm shifted 100 miles east which is why the worst part of the outer wall kept beating our shyt in for 2 hours(?) I don't know what's true and what not, my cell service has been 1998 levels of spotty which is why I haven't shared any pics or videos of the fukkery.

Now there is another hoe coming the same way ???? Augusta will straight up fold if we get hit again this week or next.

Guy I know in Augusta said it sounded like someone was trying to kick in his door for 2 hours straight. nikka said he was TERRIFIED.

There is a potential for one to form in the same area that Helene did.

It sounded like 1000000 trains, cicada's and bbw's clapping ass at once.

:pachaha:

Seriously though, fear doesn't describe those two hours. To add to the fear, we live 25 feet away from a creek that routinely overflows with heavy rain. Well that bytch turned into a river that quadrupled in width. We could hear it rushing past us, limbs and whole ass trees were getting the business before the wind even got going. The sound of that water was probably more terrifying than hearing all the trees crashing and transformers blowing. If I had to estimate, from the bottom of the creek to where the water reached, it was 15 to 20 ft. Thankfully that was just my neighborhood's unique layout to blame.

Now that I've finally lived through a truly destructive storm, I have all sorts of empathy for the island folks who see this shyt yearly. :sadcam:

Augusta. People running through lights, stores are empty, the backroads look like a damn safari, I’m through with this.
I got friends in Augusta. I was just up to see them 2 weeks ago

They said the storm kicked their ass. Power will be out for a while. They just was able to cop a generator today

I need people to take any possible storm seriously and if you can leave, please leave! I’ve seen some crazy shyt the past few days, and I’m sure I’ll be heading up as far up WNC as I can this week. People don’t watch the news and don’t believe the weather folks. I get man, I really do but you can’t be getting yourself caught out there like this. I literally talked to a dude who lives on the lake in the Mountain Island Lake area of Charlotte on Friday afternoon around noon.. He went through flooding in 2019 and said he wasn’t worried about it cause he built his house on like 12 foot stilts. The flood waters came literally up to the bottom of his house less than 24 hours later! :why: His neighbors and police were trying to call this fool but he didn’t listen.. He casually pulled out his canoe and rode it over to us. :snoop: There were people still in two other houses. I really hate it for everybody affected man. I don’t know where all these people are going to go. Our waterway system is all fukked up here.
I'm in Columbia, SC. The problem with what you're saying is that 2-3 times a year there are warnings about a catastrophic storm that is going to be the big one and cause massive damage. I remember one year I was on vacation and driving back from Miami the day one of the big storms was supposed to hit. We rushed back as fast as we could trying to beat it and it turned into just a bad thunderstorm. After enough years of the false alarms you become numb to it. Hell I remember one year having a hurricane party as a group of us got together to kick it and ride the hurricane out and it turned out to be nothing major. Ended up going out that night cause the weather was so minimal.

Luckily I was without power for only a day and a half. I got a friend in Augusta that's expected to be without until the weekend still and took major damage to her house.
