Problem is the weather people still can't always predict which areas will get massive flooding. Storms change direction, gain strength, hit other areas that weren't in the original path.

And a lot of people are stubborn and won't leave. Die trying to ride the storm out.

If you live at sea level you gonna flood eventually, i say move inland. I live in Colorado and we had one major flood in my lifetime but it was in the northern farm lands. Worse case scenario here is your basement gets flooded. fukk living in an area where hurricanes hit.

Asheville is like 200 miles from the Atlantic and like 400 from the Panhadle and over 2,000 ft above sea level.

Got power due to solar. Drove around yesterday and looked at all the damage from the storm saw a few houses basically destroyed by trees. With traffic lights being dead you just gotta drive extra carefully.

Yeah, Richmond County doesn’t have any water, at least my cousin doesn’t, but they have power. It’s either water no power, or power no water, then you gotta worry about clowns out here breaking into cars and siphoning gas, smh.
My folks down there going through it :francis: I feel so bad for my city(Augusta)

I need people to take any possible storm seriously and if you can leave, please leave! I’ve seen some crazy shyt the past few days, and I’m sure I’ll be heading up as far up WNC as I can this week. People don’t watch the news and don’t believe the weather folks. I get man, I really do but you can’t be getting yourself caught out there like this. I literally talked to a dude who lives on the lake in the Mountain Island Lake area of Charlotte on Friday afternoon around noon.. He went through flooding in 2019 and said he wasn’t worried about it cause he built his house on like 12 foot stilts. The flood waters came literally up to the bottom of his house less than 24 hours later! :why: His neighbors and police were trying to call this fool but he didn’t listen.. He casually pulled out his canoe and rode it over to us. :snoop: There were people still in two other houses. I really hate it for everybody affected man. I don’t know where all these people are going to go. Our waterway system is all fukked up here.

How do you set up a safe zone when you don’t know where the storm will head? Those cones you see are estimates and numerous storms have deviated wildly from the most likely path.

There were MILLIONS of people in the projected path of this storm. Ain’t enough buses for that man.

I see what you trying to say but the logistics of it make no sense whatsoever.
i can dig it. but SOMETHING can be done. hurricanes tend to weaken when they take an inland path, which is least likely, they need to have something set up for the smaller, less organized coastal cities that don't have the response capability. and places above sea level. but coastal places get the most wind, rain and surges.

Finally got 5 gallons of gas. My neighbor has been running missions for folks, got his ass up at 6 just to grab us some gas and an elderly neighbor some bottled water. Best $30 ever spent.

:blessed:

And I'm just now finding out that the storm shifted 100 miles east which is why the worst part of the outer wall kept beating our shyt in for 2 hours(?) I don't know what's true and what not, my cell service has been 1998 levels of spotty which is why I haven't shared any pics or videos of the fukkery.

Now there is another hoe coming the same way ???? Augusta will straight up fold if we get hit again this week or next.

Ya'll be safe man...It looks like it could be two potential storms coming...One moving up through the gulf

And then it looks like something is materializing near senegal, and two systems are going to converge...Hopefully they fizzle out, and don't turn into anything big.

Yep, all things considered, Atlanta got spared. I went to bed with the forecasted track taking the eye of the TS right over my house. Woke up to see the the storm missed is by 100 miles.
