Has Nas recent run of excellence put him ahead of Jay-Z on your all-time list?

Just depends on what you value. Nas is probably an iller emcee, but he consistently drops fogettable music imo. Jay at least drops gems musically every other album. Jay also is better with the double entrendes & slick under the surface lines.

Nas spits better verses but Jay usually makes better music.

Um yea NO. Jay-Z is the best of the best and people need to start coming to terms with the fact.

Nas is gonna pass Jay on the backend here in terms of artistry, and will be remembered as the better rapper. Especially if this new album lives up to the billing.

YOU need to come to terms with that fact. :whoo:

Wasn't Jay just being celebrated for his verses on Watch The Throne?

Its all subjective, to me Nas has always been better to Jay, some people feel as if Jay has always been better than Nas, this argument can go on for days

it's not only subjective, hov has impacted both the lyrical and business end of hip hop. He has continued the business and lyrical legacy of hip hop

Truth be told when its all said and done Jay-z is not even a top 5 rapper. He is top 10

Nostalgia and stanism may blind some people. But his run after The Black album has really hurt his legacy

How? American Gangster was better than all of the vol. albums. Watch The Throne was easily better than a lot of his old stuff.
