I don't mind the change but I wonder why they didn't get T.C. Carson to reprise the role. I see the comments talking about it's about making Kratos older now but Teal'c is 6 years younger than Carson.

He screen tested well with the actor who plays Kratos Son Aetreus. They also wanted a bigger actor to do the mocap as well as the voice

Edit: He's basically playing the same character. He was stoic as shyt with his son on Stargate.
