Giannis Antetokounmpo should now be in the lead for MVP. 🦌

I thought the Coli told me the MVP was a "Regular Season award" :jbhmm:

Can someone get us the official Book of Coli Basketball Law so we can finally settle once and for all whether past playoff results matter for future MVP standing, or whether playoff failure negates an MVP award in any given season?

Seems like for some people it really matters for Jokic... but not so much when you highlight other players' failures.

Only 3x mvp without rings and nikkas caping for him not having rings :wow:

He's just 28. Moses got his 3rd MVP before he got any rings. Kareem got his 6th MVP before he got a second ring (and had gone almost a decade without a ring at that point).

Which year do you think he should have won a ring and failed?

Are Embiid and Gianni’s not deserving? They’ve both had great seasons thus far. Embiid even playing Joker head to head had an incredible game. It could be either one of the 4. Tatum, Embiid, Joker, Giannis. But I think brehs feel as though sports media has chosen their “guy” so to speak. That’s where the pushback comes from.

Basketball Reference posts their MVP tracker every year. The MVP tracker is based solely on objective criteria and pick the MVP based on the statistical attributes held by the previous MVPs.

Top Candidates

Jokic 69.6%
Embiid 7.3%
Giannis 6.7%
Doncic 5.1%
Tatum 3.4%
Harden 3.1%
Sabonis 1.9%
Lilliard 1.4%
Morant 0.8%
Shai 0.7%

So that suggests that it's not just narratives. Whether you like the criteria or not, even the computers say that Jokic fulfills the criteria MVPs are decided on better than any other player. And it's pretty much a runaway.

Now, that doesn't change the fact that it was bullshyt for them to use the "fatigue" excuse in previous years and then not use it this year.

Jokic is the MVP. He’s elevated so many dudes it’s incredible. Will Barton started 70+ games last year and dude got bought out cause he was so ineffective without Joker who he played with for 6-7 years.

Giannis has a case every year. But he’s missed time.
Man get out of here with that bullshyt.. if that’s the case Curry done elevated his crew many times he ain’t get a 3rd mvp in a row.. Lebron was legit the league mvp for 5-6 years straight with the best record and he ain’t get 3 straight.. bozos made excuses about voter fatigue but now it’s a cac putting up numbers all of a sudden voter fatigue don’t matter

missed time?

Jokic has played 5 more games than Giannis. Thats not a huge difference at all

The ol’ Coli Jedi Mind Trickery, I see. I ain’t actin like a damn thing. Thread after thread of incoherent ranting and rationalizing, stat manipulation, ahistorical and out-of-context MVP standards and supposed precedents, claims of stat-padding and bias and liberal media conspiracies… but somehow I’m acting like something because I’m openly mocking the nonsense. Ask me how I feel about each MVP candidate and it’s guaranteed what I say will make more sense than everyone shytting on The Polar Bear Ballet GAWD.
The criticisms of the mvp chase and how goalposts are being moved year after year are legit. Besides that, How many games has Giannis missed this year? And how many more games has Jokic played than Giannis this year? Is there that much of a gap? And is Gianni’s TS% vs Jokic such a huge difference maker in their MVP comps? How do you feel about voter fatigue this year Vs in the past? :jbhmm:

So a thread hyping Giannis for MVP is hating on Jokic?

When it's the 500th thread with the same arguments making an absolute case for Giannis that excludes Joker from the convo....

Uhhhh

Duhhhhh

I really just don't know

I'm so confused

Wait is it about da playoffs or regular season?

what do yoo think bout da fatigue?

what will we tell da children about these 3 years?

so what the nuggets are the #1 seed they wasn't #1 last year

oh look the bucks are #1 now so you better be consistent

if you don't count Magic Johnson only da white boys win mvp when they don't average 29.5 ppg

jokic should be in jail for what he did do da morris twin

:mjcry: :mjcry: :mjcry:

Ain't nobody gonna seriously engage none of this embarrassing shyt.

KEEP CRYING
