But outside of missing a FT, it really wasn't Giannis fault. He's a bad FT shooter so the ball won't touch his hand like that. Instead the ball goes to the good FT shooters and they turned the ball over. In a normal game I'd agree, but in this case it was a pure FT shooting contest. Can't expect Giannis to ever touch the ball.I agree in principle. However, when you go from up 7 pts to losing (and going home) in less than a minute somebody fukked up. Late in a close gsme, especially a win or go home game, is when superstars are needed most. Giannis aint live up to that. Now does he suck and should he never be able to show his face again and have his legacy dissected for the next week straight? No. But its not unfair to expect more out of him in that moment. Trent on the other hand went way above and beyond any remotely realistic expectations even with the fukk ups.
So you dont see how having a glaring weakness that takes the ball out his hands and in turn puts it in the hands of role players with the game/season on the line is knock on him? Losing is one thing. Losing a close game is one thing. But blowing a lead like that in part because you cant put the ball in your best player's hands isBut outside of missing a FT, it really wasn't Giannis fault. Every player has weaknesses. That's definitely a huge flaw in Giannis' game. We know he sucks as FTs. It was the same knock on Shaq and how you couldn't go to him late in the game. But I ain't gone knock the man for his teammate's failing to make basic plays. Overall though who cares. People can't just appreciate how great of a game that us and immediately turn to the negative or use a loss to try and tear somebody down.So you dont see how having a glaring weakness that takes the ball out his hands and in turn puts it in the hands of role players with the game/season on the line is knock on him? Best player on the floor has to close that deal.
Thankfully for Shaq his worse perimeter co star was Eddie Jones. Yes everyone has weaknesses but some weaknesses can be worked on and improved and others cannot. Free throws can be worked on and improved. No excuse for your last 2 playoff runs ending in large part because you running from the ball late in a close win or go home game. Mistakes or misses happen...straight up running away and expecting role players to salvage the season is unacceptable. I dont think that valid, relevant criticism of what actually transpired is tearing someone down. I think he is better than that and should do better. You think its to much to ask a superstar in his prime to hold a 7 pt lead in a do or die game with 40 seconds left?Every player has weaknesses. That's definitely a huge flaw in Giannis' game.
