The confusion for a lot of you comes with looking at the outward appearance. I dated a chic that was a model...she did a couple of music videos and would do shoots here and there. We met online...she was so-called "mixed". We started dating, never knew the racial arrangement of her parents early on. She had a regular black southern accent but I noticed that a lot of her behavior was like white girls I knew. Namely, low as self-esteem and bouts with depression. This chic was 20 and fine but she was weak inside. We know all women can go through lows, but white women are weak at bouncing back. About a month into dating, I met her mom. Mom is black and dad is German...like straight from Germany...he worked for Nasa.
This was many years ago. Now that I know that the the fathers line determines the essence, the spirit of a person...it all made sense. She even had a weird love for animals, much like white women. It did not last long as you can imagine. Even though she is very close to her mother and identified as black...deep down inside I think she felt she was white in her essence but her outside appearance conflicted with it. It was like being in the show Quantum Leap. She went to a majority white high school and was never accepted and it bothered her and she overcompensated. She was a true tragic mulatto, the one fathered by a white man and a black women. Very different than many of the girls I know including some of my own cousins who have white mothers. They are strong willed and thick skinned as the women in my family.
Where is the white man/black women version of Blake Griffin? Colin Kaepernick? Zach LaVine? They are not out there and its like that for reason.
