i answered your question. you can already select more than one race, but we dont need to set policy in order to set guidelines within our communities.

You did NOT answer my question..You can only select races that WHITE PEOPLE allow you to select. And "other" is not a race..And you also still have not defined what a white person is. You seem to have a real problem answering THAT question.

I didn't sidestep...I am simply talking about race...I am not adding additional factors as wealth.

Being white and wealthy is not the same as being black and Wealthy. why? Because being white or close to it...is a privilege in itself.

not only are you allowed to select multiple races, it allows you to put your own race at the bottom if you choose. but what does that have to do with how we interact with eachother as black people? why do we need whites to allow us to define our race? further more, you would NOT change anything about the one drop rule even if you could.


and i qualify whites as anyone with caucasiod features that shares predominate european ancestry. but how they define white is really up to their group, just like its up to blacks to define what's black and what isn't.

But even with black america...biracials are their own sub group...even when you look at black american history biracials have held positions that blacks could not access. So to say that they were viewed only black is dishonest.
Whites may not favorite mixed over their own but they found ways to credit the whiteness of mixed folks when they are held as a black standard. You guys can not use this system to your advantage...it is being used against you.

My cousin is italian and black. I love him....but his experience will differ from mine or my other relatives. No fault of his own...and its the way the society is set up.

I don't blame mixed folks...at the end of the day the winners remain whites and everyone.else is pushed out to get whatever's left.

I know this thread is directed to @marcuz because of his strong views on biracials. There's also another poster (forgot his name) that has a biracial parent & a Black parent that wanted to exclude biracials from being called Black as well. He basically said if you're more than 1/4 white, you can't be counted as Black. I think it's a fair question because FD came from a mixed background (slave master rape of course) & the one drop rule was in full effect back then.

That's retarded. Lots of African Americans are more than 1/4 white and don't even know it. I swear people on these message boards is stupid.

People are splitting hairs beCause it puts in question who are representing the best of black america. And Yes...the lighter you are/the more euro lineage you are but die to the one drop rule get categorized as black.

But the less mixed blacks get pushed in the fringes of society while only one acceptable image is put forth. many descendents of black elite became elite through white lineage priviledge.
