I don't view them as just doing menial labor. They're doing the jobs that Americans here to include black people don't want to do or don't feel like they should do. Most of the work that I have done around my houses is done by Hispanics. I don't know their status but they show up, do their job, and go home. I've tried hiring black contractors and they don't show up at all, show up late, or they make mistakes or just act overall unprofessional. But you bought up a good point. At one time a lot of the contracting work was done by us. But now black people don't want to do those jobs because it's seen as beneath for some reason. You've seen people clowning folks for doing blue collar work. I've seen grown men outside selling water bottles instead of just going to go clock in. Yeah those folks are getting left behind.
