unions are being destroyed by the rich. raising minimum wage would be a good idea.
someones gotta do the shyt jobs, might as well be able to live off it right? and the extra bread they have will stimulate the economy. ie, aggregate demand, investing in people boosts GDP
learn economics and stop telling people to get better jobs. what if you have a criminal record? what job are you gonna get? nationbuilding starts from the bottom up, historically no civilization ever rose to the top any other way,

They plotted wages based on BLS numbers adjusted for inflation vs. the ratio of business output to input...you know just like the other 1,000 economic research firms and government agencies who reached the exact same conclusion did. Agreed. Only problem is those jobs are not for adults with multiple kids.
Working in fast food is not supposed to be a career. I'm aware that our economy has forced a lot of folks to depend on those jobs, but they're supposed to be transitional jobs.
Raising the minimum wage across the board would increase everyone's pay instead of incentivizing people to work in marginal fields.

You guys can theorize and hypothesize all day about the benefits of business giving away all their profits to their workers, but in the real world socialism has never succeeded and likely will never will. What would motivate someone to start a business, usually requiring a large initial capital investment, simply just to give the majority of the bonuses away to their workers? I mean, you guys seem to think business are obligated to pay their workers the maximum salary possible, simply for the "good of the nation" or whatever BS you guys seem to believe at the time. Again, its clear that many of you all have never really started a business or really looked at the inner workings of how a successful business thrives. Simply "paying people more" isn't the answer to solve all ills. Because if the business no longer becomes viable (i.e. hostess) then there will be NO profits to pay ANYONE.

i know a man who has a big position at a fast food company, he could cut his salary by like 200 grand a year and still be caking. He could actually probably make like 20 grand a year and still be able to clothe his children and furnish his house from the amount of promotional junk he gets from big companies who partner with the restaurant.
its funny bc the same hardcore conservative anti "socialism" people are usually the same people who complain about immigrants and foreign ppl coming and "taking all the jobs" but they won't pay their workers at home more money so they can provide for a family and send their kids to school so they can be educated and skilled enough to work those jobs in the future.

Dispute the premise that productivity has greatly increased while wages and compensation have remained stagnant or eat a dikk. If you can't do it stop talking because you're not engaging in any productive discussion. You're just releasing misplaced anger and sexual frustration on the internet.
