To be honest I can’t really think of a black protagonist in a Japanese game that wasn’t a stereotype or used as fan service.

Combo in jet set radio was pretty much the main character from Chapter 2 onward

He was non stereotypical and had the most character second to probably dj professor k

I really can't complain about any of the black characters in the series
