Most of the time it just seems forced. Like in this season 3 of stranger things, they made robin a lesbian. For what exactly? Contributed nothing to the story. Just seemed like the writers in the board room said we need to put a lgbt character in here so we can pander.

I'm a manager at Domino's and across every damn store in our area a rather noticable chunk of employees are dykes

At one point our store had at least five black lesbians

I briefly worked at a Panera earlier this year. I counted at least 7 associates that I would be surprised to find out they weren't bi/gay/lesbian. I would bet money one of the managers from the franchise corporate office that showed up every couple weeks or so was a butch lesbian.

ANd I live in a pretty heavily Red/religious area.

Hollywood always catches on late and goes OD to the point of driving things into the ground (minority representation, feminism, sexism, etc.)

If it feels sincere to the story and character development, whatever, but often times it feels shoehorned in to keep up with the times

and keep to a minimum in comedy. Todd Glass & Wanda Sykes are okay, but the rest are garbage.
