Im not someone that gets upset about gay people and what they do.

But it seems a bit forced.

In movies/TV I see more Gay characters than I do Hispanic/Asian...
...thats strange when the argument for all the gay characters is "its just a reflection of life"...
...so how come there are so few hispanics on tv/films?

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Most of the time it just seems forced. Like in this season 3 of stranger things, they made robin a lesbian. For what exactly? Contributed nothing to the story. Just seemed like the writers in the board room said we need to put a lgbt character in here so we can pander.

Omar was a lot of people's favorite character from the wire and nobody cared he was gay. Because they didnt pander
It actually was detrimental to the story imo because of how much chemistry those 2 characters had. It made ZERO sense to make Robin gay.

Im indifferent im not a racist right wing cac who loses it at the thought of lgbtq getting fair representation and decent opportunity, dont make it blatant and make it seem like there is an agenda , if not that im good with it

I’m indifferent to it, but I guess I reluctantly do support it as all my DC programming has gay people and gay stuff in it.

DC kinda been low key pushing that agenda for a few years.:hubie:

  1. Mr Terrific (a black character) in Arrow is gay
  2. Ra Al Ghul daughter/GAs wife is gay
  3. The police commissioner in Flash is gay
  4. Supergirls sister is gay (and I haven’t watched since S1, but now hear they have a tranny character)
  5. In Legends Of Tomorrow, the Canary chick is gay
  6. In Black Lightning one of the daughters is gay
  7. Batwoman is gay
  8. In Gotham they made Barbera Gordon gay
  9. In Doom Patrol one of the main characters (Negative Man) is gay
  10. In Young Justice cartoon, black character Aqualad just recently came out gay

Sorry, DC has a lot of shows. I’m sure I’m missing some but they have a lot of gay characters, so many you just become numb to it:manny:

I dont like it when it's the defining trait of a character. Omar was cool because it was just like he happened to be gay. Yeah there was funny moments when they mentioned it or another character witnessed it, but it wasn't the beginning and end. Sexuality shouldn't be the most prominent thing about a character, hell even a real life person.

 So GLAAD is demanding to Hollywood that they want to see at least 20% of primetime TV shows' regular characters be LGBT:

GLAAD Report Reveals LGBTQ TV Representation At All-Time High – Deadline
The new numbers come after last year when GLAAD made a call to action to the TV industry to reach 10 percent LGBTQ inclusion among broadcast series regular characters on primetime scripted series by 2020. The 2019-2020 report found that networks met and exceeded this call in just one year with its record-high percentage of LGBTQ series regulars on broadcast television at 10.2% of all series regulars, which bested last year’s record high of 8.8%.

Where We Are on TV Report - 2019
GLAAD is calling on the industry to make sure that 20 percent of series regular characters on primetime scripted broadcast series are LGBTQ by 2025. Further, we would challenge all platforms – broadcast, cable, and streaming – that within the next two years, at least half of LGBTQ characters on each platform are also people of color. This is an important next step towards ensuring that our entertainment reflects the world in which it is created and the audience consuming it.

Why?
Why not?

I fully support it because it makes sense to represent all kinds of people in movies and tv shows.
I dont support it

Its usually shoe horned in

Homos are not a race of people, we dont need to know what ppl get upto in bed

Hardly anyone on earth is a homo, its less than 5% yet every tv show has a homo, thats over representation
