Okay so I just checked all of my credit rating/score/history

and.... Its awful, but I want to improve it..

Here's where Im at with everything

My rating is at 582

Last August I took out a car loan for $17k. I owe around $15k still... Ive never been late on a payment yet

I have a few student loans also that Ive taken out..

Now this is where the problems start, I have debts that are in collections (some of them are old as hell too)

Now Ive never owned a credit card in my life, but do have hospital/dental bills that went unpaid when I was younger and didnt have insurance

Heres the list of them:

$81 7-1-2010
$138 7-1-2010
$2,764 1-1-2012 ------> All of this equals out to $3,408
$213 6-1-2011
$212 6-1-2011

All of these are also marked as CLOSED & KD (key derogatory)

Ive also had 12 credit inquiries dating back to 5-14-2011

So what should my next step be in fixing all this and building my credit rating up... As of now Im paying my car on time, every time..

I'm not sure how to handle these debts to collection agencies though

@Ethnic Vagina Finder
You can look into contacting the credit bureaus to see if they can remove the hospital bills from your credit report. They used to have this dude on the radio that would help people fix their credit & he said that they aren't supposed to list hospital bills on credit reports because it violates HIPAA laws. Not sure if it's true but good to look into.

Over the last year or so, I've learned something very important. Your credit score doesn't matter, your report does. If everything on your report is clean and accurate, then there's no reason your score will be "bad".

The comments act like that's a bad score.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shyt. *deletes self from thread*
I got one credit card that has $600 on it with a $1000 limit. one that has $190 with a $500 limit and the rest of my cards I pretty much pay off every month or keep under $300 and they all have limits of at least $3000 up to $6500.

I only have one installment loan. It started out at $6200 and has been paid down to $3140. It's on a three year payoff plan. It was a debt consolidation loan from my credit union I took out well over a year ago.

Dicsover's comments are shytting on me like I'm an irresponsible person when I'm a borderline 800 FICO.

cause it's looking at you using $790 out of $1500 and probably that installment loan, which is why i no longer pay attention to credit scores. i pay all my bills on time, and not sitting on cc debt.

mine has gone up and down, and not much has really changed on my reports....just continuation of paying bills. i do get loans to help pay for school and that affects it slightly...as long as im 700+ it doesnt really matter, and i know i am, and that's all you need to buy stuff. i've already bought and paid off a reliable car, and IF i buy a home/condo, it's going to be a 15 yr thing, not 30. i think i may look into renting out 2 or 3 properties as i get older to supplement my retirement income.

I'm gonna be looking to take out a mortgage next year so hopefully I've built up my credit enough to get one. two and a half years ago I had a 652 score I know because AAA still uses that score on my paperwork that factored into my insurance payments.

3 things i feel are very important after having a good talk with my manager (me just listening mostly)

1. debt free

2. good health insurance

3. make as much money as you can, and make smart overall decision with it.

call them and have them do a credit review, they should offer it at least once a year.
