I would like to know what is the benefit of a homeowner who paid off his house to allow someone else to live with him for free?

I really don't think some people are taking into account the legalities associated with such an arrangement.

Bf/gf relationships are not legally binding, unless you create a scenario where it becomes legal.

Out of good faith, a homeowner could let a S.O. live in his house w/o any financial responsibility and she could end up leaving him for someone else down the line, after stacking up a gang of money, paying off debt, etc.

It is a possibility! In that scenario, how does the homeowner benefit?

Seems like people want to come up off of someone else's hard work/labor then shame them into accepting a lopsided living arrangement w/o any consequences and responsibilities. Basically, accept the bullshyt and only you are to blame should things go sour...
